This is a sample chinese motocross bike that i have imported, im thinking about becoming a distributor for the bike in the UK, the bike has the NX250 Honda engine in it, after a few test runs the bike seems great.
Have a look at the pictures and the video i took and see what you think.
This is a video of the bike pottering about at the local motocross track, the video isnt great but it gives you and idea, im working on getting some more power out of the bike, i got given a list of restrictions from shineray that i can remove, once done i will take another film, hopefully a better day for it
Kinda difficult to view Y00t00b at all in China these daze... :lol8:
Seen these bikes around town and at a bike show a few weeks ago. Not bad. Never knew it was a honda engine. Makes me more interested. Thanks for the info!

Well im ready to start importing the motocross version and the super motard version now, im just wanting to gauge if anyone will actually buy them, i would only be selling them online for now and would offer a full spare parts service for the bikes too.
So does this motard version have the same engine as the 250cc dirt bike? If this is correct, it firmly goes as a potential on the shopping list, as this engine puts out 18KW. But has anyone dyno tested their engine? Also they have some pretty attractive 250cc road bikes, but with a claimed 12KW, that is real lame. :rolleyes1:

The super motard version is running with the same engine as the X2 MX bike, i have already played with the MX bikes air box and took the baffle out of the exhaust, that added with some re jetting has already increased the power by a noticeable amount.
I have been talking with Shineray about this and we have been looking at a more aggressive camshaft for the bike.
I believe i will be ready to import the 1st batch of MX bike and Motards in the next month or so, the other great thing about these bike is the spares for them is miles cheaper than your Jap equivalent.

Pinchers, I'm English but I live over here in China. If you need help dealing with Chinese hassles from this end you are welcome.
I'm interested in Shineray's motard because it has lots more power than the average Chinese stuff for it's size, also it isn't exactly hard on the eye :icon10:.
I'd rather have an 18KW 250 than have Jialing's butt ugly 30KW 600. My next bike I'm going lightweight and as high power as possible. But I'm trying to find out if the power is for real, if you dyno their bike and a Jap bike of the same size and use, maybe we can get an idea of how much power for money we are getting (very hard to do here), if the results are favourable for Shineray, it could be a good sales pitch for UK customers. Asiawing have a sweet 32KW 450 motard, but the registration costs are high to get it on the road if you register things over 250cc here.

The bike would be in competition with the Puzey XTR 250 that is sold through CCM...just keep that in mind. If the Shineray uses the Loncin liquid-cooled 250, that is the engine in the Puzey/CCM. I do think both brands' bikes are great bikes (for being Chinese :lol8:), and since the Puzey (branded as a Pitster Pro, not a CCM) is the only one available to me in the US, I would have to choose that one by default, but if I lived in the UK, I would have to decide which one, which would come down to who is nicer--you or the local CCM dealer :riding:
Special Features
wheel hubs, hand levers, sub frame parts, CAM-linkage parts,
triple clams
The good thing for your situation is that CCM does not offer the off-road Puzey XTR 250.

The Puzey does look good but i think it does still have the look of a pitbike about it compaired to the Shineray that does look like a proper motard, the Shineray is using a copied Honda engine for the X2, it is the 250cc out of the Honda dominator and Ax-1.

Good... good... if yer gonna copy anybody, Honda is a good start!

I have not seen the Puzey in person. (OK, I did not mean to do that, but let me change the sentence to read; Pow! I properly haven't peeked at the Puzey in person--ok, back to seriousness...) The Shineray looks quite the nice bike, and I would lust after that if we had them here. I forgot to mention that we are supposed to get the CPI 250 motard which might be available in the UK, and might also be competition to you. Again, not to make you feel nervous, but you need to keep your friends close, and your (knowledge of) your competition closer!
If you have good customer service, you should be able to move the bikes. The UK seems to have many places to get parts for Chinese bikes, as well as the bikes, while here in the US, we have places to get bikes, but not parts! As you mentioned spares, you will keep your customers on the road, which leads to happy customers and repeat business and word of mouth for new customers.
You of course already realize that we are expecting full reports on the motard when you get them.... :deal:

So how do we get one then??? :eek2:

Contact Shineray and see if there are any dealers close to you. If not, ask them what they can do for you to sell you a bike. Simple western business practice--see if Shineray can come through for you.

Member Supersprignet (sp?) got his Shineray directly from the factory, and detailed it when this group first started. Haven't seen too many posts from him, but he did post recently, so should be around. See who he dealt with last year. He got the enduro with all the racks--kind of a cross between an agriculture bike (ag-bike for those in Australia and S. Africa, and where they are used for agriculture), and an adventure tourer. It is the photo on the main mychinamoto page where the cute girl is standing there next to a bike on the beach.
He bought it directly from Shineray if I remember correctly. I do think he was closer to Chongqing than you are, however. Hope that helps, and try to pm him to see what he did to obtain his.

This bike should be available in China. There's a Shineray dealer in Chengdu which should carry it but I wouldn't be surprised if it can be found elsewhere.
Before I left China the brand new Galaxy 250 dirt and motard bikes were landing. Those also look like nice units but it's hard to beat the old NX250 engine design. My main problem with the Shineray X2 is the tiny gas tank. Would be a blast around town or racing but probably not too good for extended rides.

Thanks for the info Culcune. i reckon we'll be lookin' into that pretty quick! :icon10: The Shineray i saw originally that i liked was the 200GY. a right proper ag-bike! Nice, but it didn't have a big enough engine for my likin'. i'm thinkin' the GY might have the same frame as the Motard version of the X2. If so and we can contact the factory, i might be able to switch tanks and fire on that carry rack. Maybe wishful thinking, but you never know.. it could happen!
Hey CC! i thought you were still in China! Am i outta the loop or what? :icon10:

Tank is small, but it still holds 40 RMB of fuel, which is about as much as I ever fill up at one time...:icon10:

Road Rash
I was just in the Xian Shineray dealer, they had a brand new XY250GY-2 on the show room floor. The bike looked really nice in person, but a tad to tall for me (I'm 5'6'') so I fit in real well here in China. Talking with my poor Chinese trying to discribe a Motard version, was like trying to discribe the space shuttle.
Just a thought I would through in the speck sheet I got today...
Cheers,
Spoony

Spoony, find out how much they want to charge for the bike!
I've been quoted 8,000-23,000RMB for the same bike from different dealers, so be careful how much you pay!:confused1:
I'm very keen to see some feedback on the motard model, as a few of us are thinking of buying it!
