I saw an add for this in my local bike shop. Was curious if anyone knew anything about it quality wise. The owner of the shop said there weren't many of them in Beijing. Price was 20,000+元 , which could mean anything below 29,999元.
Numbers from the spec sheet.

21N. m /7000rpm

Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
I would be more interested in the Bx505 shown on the website.
That is an interesting 450cc. But i guess between shown on website and market availability is a huge gap.
If someone can tell me where in China I can buy it ....

Just made a call to Benelli head office and have just been told bike is not in the country and have no idea when it will be??
Like most things in China you can see loads of nice pictures but nothing is real.
All talk and no action

Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
The 505 is around as show bike since 2007. The proto had a Vertemati engine. Just forget it, it's never going to be produced.
Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
Everything in Ch!na is just for looking, scratch beneath the veneer, for nothing is as it seems. BeAware the smoke and mirrors.
Note the exclamation mark in the word Ch!na - it's there for a reason.
Note the addition of 'A' in the word be-A-ware - also there for very valid reasons.
Nuff said...
Opps, no... one more thing... Photosh0p is Ch!na's best friend.
There end today's lesson...
Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
I read that the BX was a collaboration with Vertemati, they developed only prototypes and those were presented in 2007. These are the three prototypes and also the twin street bike is also a prototype.
They should relegate those to future projects, or developing projects, opposed to listing them as if they are in production and available at retail, then they also did not list the BN302 which likely is their bestselling new model. Probably not their bestselling, but likely to outsell the BN600 line.
They are likely watching Shineray and advertising these is more about that, they may be developing these and likely will continue with entering the dirt bike market. In that it be best to develop a line of engines that would be competitive in the racing circuit. They can if they have the capital to invest in what it takes to get to that level. Historically Benelli went outside for that they went to Vertemati. I doubt that relationship continues today.

Sounds simple but it's almost impossible to get a custom made bike certified 'ccc',entered onto the Traffic PSB database and consequently the ability to plate the bike etc.
Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
..... Doc .... I was dreaming big of a serial production with all certification, etc. :icon10:

To buy a new KTM 390 DUKE in Indian is 18,000 RMB or even better a second hand one.
Buy a new Honda CRF 250L in Thailand cost 26.000 RMB new or even better a second hand one.
With the KTM Duke 390 gets its power from a 373cc, liquid-cooled engine that churns out a maximum power of 44bhp at 9,500rpm and a peak torque of 35Nm at 7,250rpm.
Retro fit the Duke engine and all the bits to the Honda CRF you have the making of a very good bike IMO
Who's game on ?
Yes Doc not legal no CCC but like to dream as well
Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
That KTM Duke 390 made me active here again. Was very interesting bike! Had a few years break from motorcycling because of two kids I got. Now I understand how it just happens that when one gets kids, one forgets motorcycles. Anyway, after reading a day about the KTM 390 I concluded that it is Sub Par KTM or High End China Bike, so to say. Henceforth I realized that my Skyteam China Bike, which is almost 10 years old and only showing slight rust in certain places, is as good as any bike I treat it to be. Thus I chose to fix small problems The Pony have now, namely leaking front fork seal, speedometer, and rear brake pads (actually the brake cylinder "piston" as well because the wear on brake pads managed to go unnoticed untill the rear wheel got kinda stuck – what I learned of that was that it is actually a good idea to visually inspect the bike at times).
A few modifications will come too, and after those almost 10 years old China Bike is a) better than KTM 390 b) more bad ass than KTM 390.

I have seen a photo of that white dual sport, and it said one available in the US. I had to do a bit of searching, but here it is:

This is the bike they are talking about.

It has a 250cc DOHC water cooled engine, the bike was presented in Milan in 2011 but it never made it to the market, there is a 125cc version of it offered by KSR out of Austria, but the 250 never was brought into production.

Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
The 250 was available in Italy only and only on offer for a year, the engine has been used in another model but not as exciting
Re: Benelli Qianjiang BJ250GY-2 Dual-sport 250cc
One place seems to have this general bike, or one very similar, in the US. I am fairly certain the engine is basic Chinese air-cooled.

BMS has a good reputation in the US as their scooters are re-badged Znen bikes. They are one of the few brands here that try to have a dealer network; however, this bike is not shown on their US site.
