Power Commander for 650nk
I emailed Dynojet to see if any products were available for the US CF Moto 650nk, specifically the 2014. This is the response I received. Does this make sense? The BMW is a parallel twin, yes, but an 800 vs 650? I honestly expected them to tell me to use a Kawi one...
Me: Hello, I was seeing if any module was available for the CF Moto 650nk. I have a 2014 model. Thanks!!
Dynojet: We don’t officially make one but many people are using part #12-008 for the BMW on this model with good results.

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
Interesting. Many BMW parts are made in China, its maybe that the BMW uses a very similar ECU. Being the ECU is a Ducati, possibly its a similar design. I think the the engine size isn't very relevant.

Just seems odd. Like I said, I'd expect to use a er6n/Ninja 650r PC since the bikes are basically siblings. Not sure if I would like to try it out though since my bike is so new and I like having warranty! lol

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
I think its due to the type of ecu used in the bmw that means it can be used. The 800 is also about the same power of the 650nk, I've looked at the 800 install guides and it looks doable.
Whos gonna try it?

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
OP have you contacted Wald0 or read his 650NK mod threads. This thread mentions Power Commander (item 15 in the list) though he eventually moved on from the 650NK... - might be worth you PM-ing Wald0...

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
So..using bmw map is the best choice for now..may i know which bmw model and year we should use..because i would like to try the map..

I was reading that the PC for the er6n didn't match up directly. Wires were different colors/not supported. I'll send him a PM

use part number 12-008 according to DynoJet. BMW F 800 GS 2008-2015. Let us know if it directly connects and how it works!!!

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
Little update,
Called DynoJet today. They confirmed that DynoJet UK has tested the 12-008 module on the 650nk. They did say that the maps will NOT be compatible and will need custom tuning or use the AutoTune module that they have...Not sure if I really want to try that or not. What do you all think?

What mods do you have currently? Stock? Did you just buy the 12-008, or did you already have another PC installed and just loaded the map?

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
Here is some more info from Dynojet UK
We have used this unit (12-008) on the CF Moto's before although it is not a release unit. The unit connects straight on without any wiring alterations. We have only done this on race bikes before as the bikes Lambda sensor is not straight forward to over come and is active up to 50% throttle opening throughout the RPM range. The way around this is to simply disconnect the lambda sensor from the loom, however this will cause the engine management light to come on but the bike will run fine.
If you ran with the lambda sensor still active, the bike would revert to running at lambda 1 (14.7:1 Air/Fuel ratio) up to 50% throttle.
The bike would also need custom mapping or an autotune fitting to finalise the tune.

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
So, in theory, I could just un install the o2 sensor on the header and screw in the wideband o2 from the Auto Tune kit...I'd just have to put up with the engine light being on all the time...
Think this would play nice with warranty issues???

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
Great job finding that info mate..no need warranty anymore i guess..since we want our bike to be faster n not stock anymore..because we know stock is boring..high risk high potential return bro..u hv my support..may i know after we change our exhaust to full system then o2 sensor will not be plug and how u replace that with autotune?do u hv that autotune?because if u do remap..who gonna do that for u?thanks again bro for ur sharing..

I do not have a power commander as of now. My bike is completely stock. I wanted to gather the info for when I actually purchase one.

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
****UPDATE****
The Kawasaki er6n AND Ninja 650r pipes WILL fit the 650nk perfectly. I ordered a Competition Werks slip on for the er6n and it fit right up. So, if you want to get more choices for pipes, this will open up the market a LOT
Also, I ordered the 12-008 PCV. I should be getting a tune this weekend. As of right now, the bike is popping a lot during deceleration and is shooting flames. A tune will rectify this. The AFR's are currently lean up until 4k, then it fights to stay around 14.5-16. Once I get the dyno sheet, post it. This way you know what to expect from a bone stock bike with just a slip on. My elevation is 3750 feet and temperature was in the 50's Fahrenheit. Bike made 60hp. I'll report back soon.
Bike is running perfectly fine, other than the loud pops and flames :)

Re: Power Commander for 650nk
here is the dyno chart
Attachment 17850
One interesting thing to note is that the bike seems to richen up once it gets hot. This is great news for me because I never take short rides, always long ones. :)

I'll see what the manager says. I dropped the bike off yesterday and will pick up at the end of the week. The mechanics told me that they may not be able to give me the file since it is technically their work and they don't want it distributed for free. I know the manager pretty well, so I'll see what he says!
