Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
Motrac are a motorcycle manufacturer based in Taizhou, Zhejiang province. The company has focused primarily on smaller offerings in the 125cc and eBike categories. Last year at the CIMA Chongqing show they displayed various models including a v-twin 800cc cruiser concept, and a adventure tourer styled MG500 (491cc DOHC Loncin sourced/manufactured in-line two cylinder engine) the engine looks similar to the CB500 engine but are not the same internally (491cc versus the Honda 471cc). The MG500 491cc engine has a 76mm bore x 55.1mm stroke, versus the Honda CB500 67mm bore and 66.8mm stroke, although the power and torque figures at 47bhp (35kW) and 32ftlb (43Nm) at 8500rpm is the same as that achieved by the CB500 engine. MG500 weight is claimed at 197kg dry, the bike has a full colour TFT display and LED lights and is to be Euro4 compliant.

The MG500 styling seems to take styling cues from a well known Italian marque - having a striking resemblance to a Ducati Multistrada MTS1200.
The chassis combines a steel trellis front section with a cast aluminium rear, an upside-down fork, radial callipers and an aluminium swing-arm.
The same engine and possibly other components will be found in a naked version soon to be released under the model variant MT500.

There are also 400cc twin cylinder steel framed models, a naked MT400 and yet to be released full fairing sports model version, the MT2.

Hmm, feels like a new generation of Chinese Stock Bike, missing a little bit personality. For some reason my first thought was like I have seen this before as Yamaha Fazer:

The currant Taobao price is.....
29.800mm RMB no travelling boxes.
Attachment 19482
38.100 RMB with 3 Tourfella and mounting frames.
8.300 RMB sounds a lot for the travelling boxes.
The price may include the crash bars.?

Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
This "adventure" version I fancy quite some, like it much more than the CFMoto "adventure" bike. Could even see myself buying one :) In my opinion the best china bike so far :)
Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
I live in Taizhou, have not seen one tho

Ok, good to know, was not a surprise though. But maybe someday one gets what one sees when buying a china bike :)

I suppose 8300 not only for Tourfella boxes, also for spoke wheels... looks like they have kind of ADV package (maybe front is 19").
here is a good article about 650MT/MG500/TRK502
http://newcar.xcar.com.cn/201702/news_1965557_1.html
it's in Chinese, so use Google Translator - worked for me.
650MT is winner for this years, I guess
Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
Hi Steel
Thanks for the link to the review on the 3 bikes.
Interesting to read a Chinese reporter review on these bikes.
But it's more like a spec review than a true sit and ride review IMO.
From the review, the report says the spoke wheels on the MG500 are 17"
But the 1 commit I did like was .....

Summary:
Today, we compare three cars, last year, can be said to be very representative of the three domestic break travel, adventure models, their clusters, mainly because consumers becoming more and more rational and receptivity for new cars is also increasing, which also reflects the consumer is the first driving force for production. In this most popular of the three in the car, 650MT does bring surprises, TRK502 Italian gimmick still continued to play the spoiler of ADV market MG500 with technology configuration and appearance attract early glimpse into the motorcycle market newcomers. Considered, over a period of time in the future, 650MT and TRK502 will be the sales force in this market, MG500 can leave people who dare to taste.
IMO opinion the clear winner was the MT
P.S. Just watched the 3 videos, and remind me not to let this guy test a bike off mine heheheh.
IMO the MT sounded the best with the TRK502 next and the MG500 looks like "A Smoker Joe" LOL

so we're still waiting for sit&ride review of 650MT from one happy owner, right Prince? :)
Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
hehehhehe
Yes, that is correct.
Firstly been working on the set-up of the bike and I will post the finished picture later, but not here on this thread.
Also, only clocked up 2500km, so IMO still early days.
I will leave Shandong on a trip in about 10 days time, to which I can report back with a better insight into the MT.
But I can say NOW, I am impressed with the bike.
Completed a few section of dirt road with some big pot holes and the limiting factor so far has been the road tyres, easy fix.
IMO the MT is better suited for China then the TR-G.
So Mr Steel not long before I will report back with a more detailed review.
Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
It seems TRK have some "interesting" metal tube design in rear swing arm :eek2:
Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
Friend of mine has a TRK ABS and seems to be quite happy with the bike after adjusting the suspension.
The bike hold a very good curving line and is low end torquey. On the expressway he makes a good travel speed of 140kmph with 2 people.
The range is +/- 500km per tank filling. Even with passenger he can keep up with my GS (maybe i am a poor rider ....)
The only thing i see coming is, that he will need soon a new side stand or has to modify it.
Its grind off nearly half stand surface.
Re: Motrac - Taizhou, Zhejiang Province
I was very tempted to buy the TRK502, but in the end, the deal I had with CFmoto pushed me into the MT.
Like the 500 KM tank range with the TRK, can say with combined riding you will be lucky to get 350km from the MT.
