Is there a list of banned cities for bike?
Wouldn't it be easier to ask which cities are NOT banned. :lol8: The last official government white paper issued showed the following bans...

Is it not fair to say, where a ban is in place for a certain City/Town one can still ride "Generally" around most of the city with no problem.
Its only special areas within that Town/City could be problematic.
Out of the city's listed I have properly ridden in a good 50% of them with no problem.
Also if you are on an out of province plate again "Generally" the police are a bit more pleasant towards you.
Just my 10 cents.

Yes, I think it's fair to say you can probably get away with riding in most of these cities 90% of the time, but will find it very difficult to register a motorcycle or acquire a motorcycle license in all of them.Quote:

Shichuan Chengdu and the cities listed are not banned, just some restrictions in Chengdu and yes you can still get a high priced plate to legally ride in the city.
Nanning Guangxi is totally banned tho nothing allowed no registration etc.
Does anyone know if their is a ban in Dalian?
Also, the list shows Changchun Jilin and we have no ban in this city, just a few roads with daytime bans.
Dalian has a bike ban, but at my last visit to some rider friends it seems they give a sh... and its not enforced.

Dalian is good to ride around, but that said you my have problems with getting petrol.
Bikes are not banned in Hangzhou in Xiaoshan, Yuhang and Binjiang districts officially. Un-officially the ban is only enforced in the downtown area around west lake. The general rule is if you look like you have a nice bike, good gear (basically not a farmer on a farm bike) you wont have issue. They're also not banned in Wenzhou and Yiwu. I've seen a lot of bikes in those cities and Wenzhou even has a Harley dealer.
Huzhou is introducing a bike ban in the city centre from 1 August
This process is very slow, but I suppose that it will be very efficient. I like the sky... I think that the post is very unique and inspiring. All the best.
I can now confirm that Huzhou has cameras in the city centre that catch you. Three points off and RMB100. Paid my first fine yesterday, fu..!!! Really annoying, as I did my best to avoid the city centre. Will now have to do it the Chinese way and cover my number plate when venturing on that road again, which is unavoidable sometimes.
