Re: For Sale: GSX-R 750 K1 track bike
I think a 9 year old race bike is pretty hard to price in China, especially with extras.
Re: For Sale: GSX-R 750 K1 track bike
...and by the seller's own admission, this bike cannot be ridden anywhere except a track. If the seller has no "road papers" he seems to be acknowledging that this bike has no legal status in China, and probably entered via the black or gray market. Unless the buyer is willing to buy fake plates, or do a palm-greased back-door deal with the traffic bureau of some small town somewhere, this bike will never roll off the track.
Then again, you'd have to be nuts to drive a juiced-up Gixxer 750 on public roads in China!
caveat emptor.

Re: For Sale: GSX-R 750 K1 track bike
Let me chime in on that as the seller:
The bike was brought in as a race bike by a motorbike racing company in 2001 to the Zhuhai circuit, and participated in the 2001 and most likely in the 2002 season.
From then, the use of the bike was toned down, till I bought it in 2008.
I completely re-built it (by myself, documentation available), and used it in 2009 as a recreational track-bike (not a race-bike) on the Tianma and F-1 circuits.
In 2010 I hardly used it due to a lack of time, an "off" on one of my other bikes, and the fact that I have one of my Ducati's ready as a track bike instead (hence the reason for sales).
I clearly state it as a track bike, not a street bike, as it is not road legal.
All road equipment is removed, cable booms are reduced, and the power is set for the upper RPM range.
And yes, I can advise everyone to participate in a SIC (F-1) track day at least once; no bicycles, blue trucks and chicken .... how about that in China :mwink:

For a price reference, not so difficult as there is plenty of reference on track- and racing bikes out there.
A reasonable price should be ~40k RMB, I however mention the price-offer as I want to get rid of it, and would like to see an other enjoying participant in our track days.

Re: For Sale: GSX-R 750 K1 track bike
*sigh* It's posts like these that make me depressed. Where have I gone wrong in life that I'm not living by an international race track, with a proper motorcycle to run on it?? And just to salt the wound, I see not one, but TWO Ducati 998S's listed in your garage!!!
I fell desperately in love with the 916 range of Ducatis (is that the plural?) after I first heard one in D.C. on a school field trip... I hate you sir. In a good "I wish I was you" kind of way :)
Good luck with the sale!

Thanks for the thumb up on the sales!
And ....I came to China 10 years ago, with literally 2 small wooden cases with "my life" in it, nothing more.
Worked my butts off in my own small company, made some money and spend some of it on the bikes.
Nothing spectacular, just if you really want it, you can get it
Merry Christmas from a very white Europe, and now off to sell this baby

Happy New Year
Anyone fancy to join us this year. Just an idea of our 2009 event on the F-1 circuit (combined with the Asian GT-3 and Porsche Cup).

Re: For Sale: GSX-R 750 K1 track bike
Is that you in row four left? Looks like fun.
Re: For Sale: GSX-R 750 K1 track bike
Yeah, that is always great fun.
We normally have anything from 2 till 10-15 bikes per event, with an age range from 21 till 58 so far.
The best was just me and my friend on a 23C spring Sunday last year, with the whole F-1 pits and track only for us. Beat that!
As you can see, most people have a 600+cc., track-only bike, but some of them also convert their road bike for a track weekend (tape up glass and plastics, remove bits and pieces, etc).
600cc is the minimum you need on a track like that, and even then most bikes run out of breath at the end of the long straight, it is just tooooo freaking long :icon10:.
You should come and have a look next time (or buy a nice Suzuki and participate :lol8:...)

Just found this forum. Great resource!
I have seen this track bike and I can second what Eric have said above. Clean title and well maintained indeed
Bump for a great deal
