CIMA 2017 Motorcyle fair in Chongqing
I'm planning on attending the CIMA 2017 in Chongqing. I've booked tickets today.
Here is some info on the trade fair- parts motorcycles and clothing etc...
https://www.tradefairdates.com/CIMAM...Chongqing.html
and here
http://www.cimamotor.com/en/
I'd just like to know if any posters would like information/pictures from the fair. Or... are there any magazines that want copy or pictures for example on new product releases for this year /2018 for the China motorcycle market?

Re: CIMA 2017 Motorcyle fair in Chongqing
The banquet is on Friday evening and the expo is from Friday until Monday. If you need tickets let me know and I will give you the wechat address of the lady (Jessie) who distributes them.
By the way, Monday's show is not great as it's when everyone takes down their stands.
If you only get the choice of CIMA or Canton fair, go for Canton it is MUCH better. CIMAmotor is a bit half-hearted these days which is a shame because it could be one of the world's top moto expos (in all honesty it was much better better years ago when I was working with them on the international aspects).

That would be great to get details. The entrance tickets. Do you know if they are purchased at the gate?

Re: CIMA 2017 Motorcyle fair in Chongqing
Looked at my old 2010 CIMA report...
It would be nice to read a comprehensive report of the show. Interesting to see how little has changed in 7 years and how few of the bikes I photographed ever became available. I hope CIMA has done a better job of attracting accessory and parts companies.
Most important would be quality images of the booth babes, we haven't had proper coverage of that in years.

First day of the show was tiring. Think I saw everything there was to see... I'm told in previous years, this was a no annual event and from now on it's yearly or something, so less exhibitors. There were two halls open and outside activities.. Trying some of the bikes.. Like the Kawasaki versys 300

There was a concept bike from zongshen... Game made by a French company, the rest is Chinese... Took part in the Dakar rally this year in South America..
Just as I was going to have a go on it, it conked out... Crack in the carburetor let water in during the race... Not to Attachment 19771Attachment 19771

There were so many smaller displacement sidecars.. A lot of manufacturers had them.. Not sure why, except that the models seemed to line posing in them..
But I saw this and thought it was a cj750 but no.. An exact copy forget the price.. But "new"
Haojun?

Sorry about the pictures all being in the wrong orientation..
I think the biggest thing was the showing of two new zongshen adv models. I don't know if this had been seen elsewhere but was news to me. A 380 and a 450 adv bike from cyclone range the bigger one was shown in red and orange both with side cases and top case in aluminum

I was surprised that shineray was not there.. Or jialing... But for me the show was interesting.no got to know some brands better which I'm sure many on here are already very familiar with.blind in and zongshen for example..
They had big booths facing each other at the entrance. Loncin had a big show on a stage which attracted so many people I didn't see their bikes until later.. They also had a be display with people riding a bike on a stand and you could see in the big screen what they could see.. Not bike related but cool, I thought.. The bike was the 300rr which I rode outside.. Another of the attendees _perhaps a professional rider) was chucking this bike around the small enclosure outside, doing. Endos (spelling?) And wheelies for the crowd.. Very entertaining and attracted me to a bike in a style I'd not considered before.. Very "flickable"

Oh, what else? Yes I was surprised by the e bikes... Saw this one early in the morning and chatted to the guy at the stall.. He suggested I ride it outside... It goes 120km/h and does 0-100 km/h in 4.3 seconds..
I had a go and it was very fun awesome acceleration... After dismounting,a guard told the guy "no riding out here" an exclusive ?:naughty:

This was a prototype..
Another thing, at the end of the day, e bike/ mountain bike/ dirt bike concepts
Don't seem to have any pictures. Hmm

Thanks a lot for the report and for posting pictures.
Try and work out how to post pictures correctly as it spoils your report and my heads hurts from standing on it to view the pictures lo

Oh yeah, I wanna add this. An irrational favorite although can't really put my finger on why.. Not a new model. Aprilia/ zongshen collaboration. I spoke to a Chinese dealer and he said it hasn't been popular in China. I liked it's low centre of gravity.. Gave it a ride.. Got all the trade marks of a mini adv bike... But only 150cc.??? The price around 1,700 for a 150 hmmm.
Again... Surprised other agents weren't there.. Like Honda with the cb190 fight hawk..

Sorry not this... This is their dirt bike..I'm working on a mobile phone... Apologies

This bad boy..
Before these sideways pictures undermine my while post. At least the beginning has a healthy portion of titillation

Re: CIMA 2017 Motorcyle fair in Chongqing
Metalmonkey, you missed one really interesting bike in your report. ADV model from Loncin, based on their 650cc single.
With weight less than Zongshen RX4 and way more powerful engine, with KYB front fork and Nissin brakes it's a really promising ADV bike from local supplier.
-
Today we plan to miss the show and rather go to the bike and parts market downtown
Might be more useful then looking at bikes I can't afford or parts suppliers that don't sell locally etc

Yes, I read somewhere that there is a second hand flea market for bikes associated with the event in the city... Anyone got any more info?
-
Re: CIMA 2017 Motorcyle fair in Chongqing
Thanks a_steel , yes guess I was looking at personal choices.. Like I say, for me the loncin stand was swamped for most of the day.. Plus, you obviously know what you're looking at in terms of parts.
Really, thanks for adding to this, yeah that bike looks Very robust.. Competition for the jialing jh600.. At least got those on here

That Loncin looks pretty good. Hopefully it doesn't weigh half a tonne like the Benelli 502
