Re: Fuel tap - when stopped
Point it downwards for normal riding, when you run of petrol point it up to switch to reserve and go find a petrol station. Dont forget to switch back to down after filling up, otherwise nest time you run out you'll have no reserve! The dot on the left closes the fuel tap.
The reserve tank is the same as the main tank, it's just two different length tubes pointing up into the tank. So you only need to worry about filling one tank.
Re: Fuel tap - when stopped
It's always a good idea to shut off the fuel when parked. If you were to get a tiny piece of lint or even a hair stuck in the the needle valve it would allow gas to overfill the float bowl and run into the engine, flooding it and diluting the oil, or out through the air filter where it could cause a fire if there was an ignition source.
Re: Fuel tap - when stopped
So are some of these taps different? I have an RMR200, the half full beaker is on the top on my bike so I have the tap facing down for normal running?????
