The landscape is great and the Tianyuan Holiday Hotel (Phone: 0312 7336888) is biker friendly. Service and Restaurant are very good.
We will ride together, but everybody should make his own hotel reservation.

Re: Season Opening Ride 2012 to LaiYuan
I would like to emphasize once more two things:
a) You must book your hotel room by yourself (phone no. is in the picture above)
b) all riders are welcome to join ... small displacements, sidecars, scooters
If you can't download the PDF file from mediafire: send an email to chongli_biker_registration at yahoo dot com

A new season also need a new T-shirt.
Therefore I have created the 2012 Chinese BAD ASS shirt.
1:1 translation: Huai Dan! = Bad Egg!
meaning in China: Huai Dan! = Bad Ass!
........I proudly present:

(I have a yellow/white version too)
If you like that -> send a email to Chongli_biker_registration at yahoo dot com . I will collect the number of feedbacks and ....
If the community like it -> I will talk to Jim's shop and the Iron horse saloon Beijing at TianBei Road to make it there available.
BTW: I have one already ....... :17:

Nice design! I've already emailed my interest!
cheers
Re: Season Opening Ride 2012 to LaiYuan
Attention for a wrong hotel phone number in Google maps!
The hotel in LaiYuan has following correct numbers:
+86 312 784 00 00
+86 312 733 67 77
the three times 888 at the end as shown above is WRONG!
Re: Season Opening Ride 2012 to LaiYuan
That sounds like a LOT of fun. Unfortunately because of a hand injury, I will not be able to join.
Re: Season Opening Ride 2012 to LaiYuan
Still a bit on the cold side for doing long rides in my opinion, will see how the weather evolves by the end of the week!
Re: Season Opening Ride 2012 to LaiYuan
With the suitable riding gear shouldn't be a problem.
Does someone know whether there can be bought a water heating device with 12V to be connected to the battery?
A warm coffee is motivating sometimes ..........

12Volt electric cookers typically have power ratings well above 100W which would overload the alternator of an average bike and it would also drain a bike battery quite quickly. The better option for sure is a gas or petrol cooker. Gas cookers are available in various BJ camping stores for around 100-200 RMB. Mine was 150 and included some pots. Gas cartridges come in 3 sizes where the mid sized one is good to boil 12-15 liters of water.

And yes, coffee IS important
Re: Season Opening Ride 2012 to LaiYuan
Thanks for the advice. I didn't consider that the power consumption would be that high.
Let's see if I still get a small gas cooker .....
