Duke 390 Oil Leak Just over 2000km
Hello guys,
FYI I am no mechanic but my Duke 390 has a small oil leak. Not sure if I can leave it alone or if I should get to the mechanic and have it checked out. Keep in mind the closest KTM dealer is a 7 hour ride away.
Either way I think it is leaking from the silicone on these tubes coming out. I am pretty sure the tubes have wires in them. One for the Magnetic coil and the other for the gear positioning sensor but I am not 100%. These picture are 1 week after a full wash to give you an idea how long this build up took. I hope it is not the seal :( Only 2000km on the bike so far.
Should I worry and get to a dealer?
Not enough to care?
Should I try to reseal the tubes with new high heat silicone?
What would you do?

Ouch ! that is not good , it will only get worse , at 2k it must be due for a service ? where do you take it for these ? surely they can fix the leak under warrenty .
It should not have this , make a noise !!!.

I do my own service. Dealer is 7 hours away. Turns out I was right. Just a rubber grommet where the gear positioning sensor goes into the case. Used some silicone and it was as good as new!

Glad you got it sorted , oil leaks make a horrible mess and can be hard to trace sometimes .

earlier I faced the same issue on my RC 250. The KTM RC 250 uses the same oil grade as the bigger Duke and RC's (source: https://www.mototechindia.com/ktm-rc-250/). Mine was leaking near the exhaust bend under the frame. It was very subtle at first, I noticed it after I washed my bike, I spotted a patch of oil with dust. Thankfully got it sorted.
