I should have my bike registered this weekend. My endorsment class is Sunday. I am so Jazzed to start riding....
I am anxious to see how my engine holds up on the daily 20mile R/T commute. Thx to Barnone, here is my first upgrade.

Gardo,
You need to take you Heist back to the dealer and ask them to adjust your carburetor to take out the cold bloodiness. I raised the needle with a washer and adjusted the idle mixture screw. I can fire my DF up and she is ready to go.
Have them take a look at the following to get an idea of what to adjust.
"Tuning manual for a PZ26 carb ( PZ30 on the DF250RTB/Heist looks similar except for 30mm instead of 26mm size) is located at

thanks to jape. "
ktmracer,
Your welcome. I think the MDP is a good investment on these engines with the wire mesh oil filters. I see good old bear has different color MDPs now. I've ordered eight or so MDPs from him so far.
Engine should hold up fine with proper maintenance and proper mods. My valves were too tight so you might want to take a look at them. Watch the color of the plug for a too lean condition which could cause excessive engine temps.
Are you talking about torquing the lock nuts? I just snug up the lock nuts and then recheck the clearance before putting the cover back on.
I checked then again at 600 miles and they were fine. These bikes are so easy to work on. Everything is right out in the open. Nice and simple.
How about sharing the pdf on valve adjustment?
