It is in OZ at the moment.I am trying to work out how to ship it and another MTB I have plus all my Camping gear(tent etc)Plus some snow ski gear to China.Any ideas on the best way? Will I get taxed on all this gear if I ship it?
They might freak out when they see what I am going to do with this in the mountains close by.They ride their MTB's from the city to the mountains about 20/30klms then basically do some easy trails or leave the bike and hike.I have other ideas.
This bike is now outdated back in Australia. It is a 2004 plus all the updates are 2005/06.
Re: Post picks/list components of your bikes here!
Tricky, yes ship it. But remember that a bike is fairly light and with a bike bag you could bring it on a flight as it's within the weight allowance, if you are traveling fairly light, so if you are going home sometime just bring it back with you in a cheap bike-bag. Or get it split down into parts and have it rebuilt over here, maybe without the frame, you can get decent Giant frames for 500-1000 (Chinese ATX) or 1500-2500 (Tai***nese XTC), hardtails.

And "Made in Taiwan", 12 years ago, still going strong. Love the carbon wheels:

1998 Giant ATX FS Expert, built up as part of a (short lived) Giant tailor made program.
Got some trick parts, Magura hydraulic rim brakes, carbon Spinergy wheels (yes, the ones with horrific stories on the net) and slicks.
Only use it on the road, mostly in the mountains.
Still prefer the control of a mountainbike over any roadbike.

Re: Post picks/list components of your bikes here!
Interesting steed. Sorry to be out of date, but what does 4x signify? And is this meant for doing what you are doing in your avatar -- goading gravity on steep slopes?
Don't hurt yourself on that thing.
cheers
Re: Post picks/list components of your bikes here!
Very nice bike, well hidden beauties in the component list.
Enjoy it!

4X mountain bike racing, a little bit like mountain styled BMX racing. I'm not racing it ,though. Lots of city riding and hardpack bike suits the majority of surfaces it will be ridden on. Nearly as fast a cross country bike, but as tough and durable as a freeride bike.

Rockrider 6.3
Bought this bike from Decathlon (2999 yuan) in March 2013. Have just noticed MCM had a bicycle section :)
All stock except for a Cateye trip computer. This was not purchased for commuting - hence no bags, no lock, no nothing. Keep it a home, ride out, bring back. The purpose of purchase - keeping fit, quitting smoking. So far so good.
The bike's original price was 3999 yuan. Discounted 1000 yuan (since it's a 2009 model, and, apparently, nobody wanted it).
Had a rear inner tire blow on me (must be just too old), had it patched. Brakes squeal as hell - no idea why. Rear gear shifter has had problems changing 2-3-4 and 4-3-2, required some adjustment - did it myself.
Got no idea about the component specifications, since they all seem to be "Rockrider" branded.
