Police Hand Signals
I've tried to search on forum and net, but couldn't really find eng sources.
I know, I have my license, I don't need to know it anymore, but still.. I'd like to know what the hell does the policeman mean by doing all those strange waving moves :)
Do you have some link with the official rules? Or could you explain to me?
Thanks in advance :)

Re: Police Hand Signals
They wave at you and it means you have done something right and you should just keep going. If they point somewhere it means there is (possibly) something interesting to see.

Re: Police Hand Signals
This was all asked on a written driving exam I took for my car license. This was the worst part of the test and I studied my butt off trying to memorize all the diagrams, including the wrong answers --- as the test had multiple design flaws.
A few years later I still haven't a clue what the cops are doing with their hand signals.

Re: Police Hand Signals
Dan H. posted a link to the question bank for the written driving exam on this forum. In that list are the hand signals with the English explanations. Some of them are quite confusing and do not really make sense unless you understand the code behind them. At busy intersections some drivers just ignore them anyways, which once left me sitting at the stop line while traffic sailed past in blithe ignorance of the policeman holding his hand up to stop.
