Inner Mongolia Mini-Rally! Takl Substitute
Hi Guys,
as I have already discussed with Mofar we are planning to do something 'similar' instead. Our idea is to go to the Inner Mongolia, there's a nice semi-desert-like area just north of Duolun with big san dunes, tracks etc where we can play around with our off-road bikes for a couple of days.
It's just an 8-9 hrs drive/ride from Beijing, so it'll be fine for long weekend.
I'm planning to this at weekend from 20 to 24/25th of August or the weekend after.
Not racing (or?) but more playing in the sand, have a fun and a good time on wheels.
As some of us do have pure dirt-bikes and we need some more stuff to bring, I want to hire a little truck so that we can put 5,6 or 7 bikes inside.
We'll sleep in tents, have BBQ and beer at the evenings, ride oour bikes and drive our Jeeps during the daytime.
I'll bring my Jeep as well, as it has a bike-rack at the back, so that we can recover the bikes out of the sand where the truck can not go , if necessary.
I've been in this area several times, it easy, nobody will disturb us, it's safe etc. In case... Doulun and the nearest hospital will be just an hour away...
