Lance Powersports and Znen Scooters
Looks like we have another Chinese scooter player in the US market based out of Ontario, CA. Lance Powersports seems to import "ZNen" scooters which is actually Zhejiang Zhongneng Industry Group CO., LTD.

ZNen's site is in multiple languages and they seems to have pretty progressive styling for a scooter manufacturer. http://www.znen-motor.com/
Lance Powersports has a nicely setup page with a clean and intuitive interface. They claim to have parts but we'll have to find out more about that. What they do have available online is a whole hearted smattering of as many technical PDF documents they could muster about their units including some general trouble shooting flowcharts and wiring diagrams.

Time will tell how it turns out for Lance and I hope we get more information soon!

Re: Lance Powersports and Znen Scooters
Last summer a Lance dealership opened here in Bend Oregon but closed within a few weeks. Maybe they'll try again when gas prices skyrocket.

Re: Lance Powersports and Znen Scooters
Gas prices here in the DC metro VA burbs have been hovering at around 2.99/gal for premium. I think they're afraid to go too much past the 3 dollar mark or customers will stop driving/consuming as much. What a messed up industry it is!
That said, the scooters don't look all that bad. Would be nice to get a warm body with a camera to test ride one.

Re: Lance Powersports and Znen Scooters
Hi all,
We also use Znen as one of our manufacturers for our Motorino line of scooters. The factory actually makes some pretty good scooters, a bit higher priced than other mfgs but worth the extra money to get the better quality. We also have hired an American consulting company to be present during production runs of our scooters. That way we have eyes and ears at the factory to ensure we get the quality we want and the better parts that we have speced out.
Many other distributors in the US use Znen, Fly scooters, BMS, Lance and a few others that are less well known.
We have been happy with them so far and will continue to use them for some of our models.

John, welcome to MCM. I'm happy to hear you sound like you've got your act together with the importing game. Hiring someone to supervise you production is definitely worth the investment.
The Chinese scooter market is largely under reporesented in the US but I think they're apples for apples more competitive. Certainly, there's no less of a diversity of scooters than regular motorcycles... it may even be a 2 to 1 ration as far as models and types are concerned.
