For this reason, the Harley dealers have guys who do pretty much nothing else besides scour the secondary market for available plates. They may actually be worth their weight in gold.
Moral of the story: If you know of anyone who is thinking of putting their bike plate on a car, please tell them they are leaving money on the table (not to mention screwing their fellow motorcyclists). Have them sell the bike plate to another bike owner, then buy a car plate with the proceeds -- and pocket several thousand rmb in profit.
