Two of the the many great things about mychinamoto are the upbeat, friendly tone and spirit of sharing and generosity. This post is meant in the spirit of sharing and mutual support, but is anything but upbeat.
Please spend five minutes watching this video -- The-cost-of-drinking-and-driving-in-Australia -- which I first viewed today in a motorcycle forum here in California. If you are like me, you'll be a bit shellshocked afterwards. You'll probably want to share it with other friends, but not before prepping them a bit in advance.
Simple message: Don't drink and drive, or drink and ride. Needless to say, this applies everywhere, not just in Australia, and especially in China.
Watch it, and make sure everyone you know who drinks or dopes watches it.

Re: don't drink and drive, please
Jeezos! Nevermind drinking and driving, that makes me not want to drive at all!
Kinda reminds me of those gory accident photos they used to place in the highway rest stops. People forget that a bag of soft tissue getting hit by a car/bike/anything makes a big mess. A little reminder every now and then keeps everyone sensible.
Don't get complacent. I remind myself everytime I get on a bike that this can be dangerous, or look at the ground and imagine my face scraping along it. Wasn't there some report showing riding experience vs accident rates? The highest accident rate were not beginners (who were specially cautious) but the 2nd year riders who felt confident and relaxed their guard.

Re: don't drink and drive, please
On a few occasions I've made a point of not drinking and driving. Hopefully it's catching on.
