Motorbike rental in Beijing?
Hi, the season is almost over but I am planning a longer ride with my GF. We don't like the idea of riding two up for 4 or five days so I am thinking of borrowing/renting one for the time.
Does anybody know places who rent out motorbikes in Beijing (no ChangJiangs, please)? I found one on the internet but the prices seem ridiculous (500 a day+15.000 deposit for a 400cc Honda).
Or maybe someone in Beijing would be willing to lend us his bike? We would of course be willing to pay for it!
Thanks for your advice!
Re: Motorbike rental in Beijing?
500 a day is good price. and the deposite you ll get back if you dont crash....
you can lend any used bike from my shop as well but also 500 a day and full selling price deposite for any bike. R1,R6, Honda 929,919, Zx10r, zzr 400, just to name a few....
cheers!

G'Day,
Have quite a few mates enquiring about big bike rental in BJ (no worries, they have valid PRC DL).
Your bikes legit and legal BJ registered bikes or just dodgy out of town plates / rego?
Re: Motorbike rental in Beijing?
most bikes have jiang su plates.

G'Day,
Sorry to say, most Jiangsu plates (rego) I have come across are dodgy and here in Shanghai you buy fake plates (Jiangsu) for around 10RMB at the big bike market.
Wondering if EDELWEISS (Bike Travel Germany) is still in business in Beijing or China, Chinese guy by the name of Rick Ren was running the show some years ago and they had BMW bikes for rent.
Re: Motorbike rental in Beijing?
Rick and Edelweiss are still in business, based at the Jialing Dealership at Goldenport Racecourt. They not only do tours but also rent out bikes.

G'Day,
Any web-link or direct contact details of Rick Ren?
Visited the GoldenPort Track two weeks ago to check out Ducati Beijing and Bozon, Polaris but had no interest to get Jialing'ed and did not visit the Jialing shop.
Re: Motorbike rental in Beijing?
Hi Guys
I am also interested in renting a bike, with an official Chinese driving license but there is no way I am putting the value of the motorbike as a deposit...
anyone has a contact with a real rental facility ?
thank you
Re: Motorbike rental in Beijing?
I fully understand the deposit story. I would do the same. Maybe for foreign guys where you can make a passport copy I would lower it. But for Chinese ID cards you can't be sure they are real. A good valuable bike would disappear very easy in this big country.
That's a pity for the big majority of honest Chinese guys.
IMO the price of 500RMB / day is fair for a well maintained bike.

A foreigner can easily disappear quickly from the country entirely holding a valid passport to travel freely after causing a lot of trouble (accident / incident) or selling the bike off.
Sold a few import bikes over my years in China and always requested to hold onto the passport while foreigners I did not know personally test rode my bikes for sale, better safe than sorry afterwards... 'nuff said....
