Honda VTR 250 sighting in Shanghai
Saw this neat little ride near my place in Shanghai's CBD yesterday. Proud owner said it was a "gray market" import, but had legal plates from a neighboring province. I imagine he has a lot of fun riding this, while avoiding intersections where cops congregate.
Can anyone confirm this indeed is the Honda VTR 250 V-Twin? Any idea where these are made? (It's not in China.)
Here's a link that seems to confirm it: Honda VTR 250 write-up
I like the Ducati-like exoskeleton, er, trellis frame! Not sure I'd like the forward-leaning riding position on a bike that already is pretty low to the ground. Rule No. 1 in China: Ride tall to see and be seen!
cheers

No, I didn't ask him how much. He said it was gray market. If I see him again I'll ask. Sweet looking ride.

Yes quite good looking bike!. Owned one before in Shanghai. Grey one. Check the pictures attached.
Funny to ride but not enough power! And the sound is disappointing!
Those bikes can be found for less than 10 000 RMB. I paid mine 8K 3 years ago.

Honda sold them in the USA up to 1990 and they looked like a Ninja....lots of plastic fairing.

Where do you guys go to buy bikes like this in Shanghai? I'm a first-time rider currently looking for either one of these, or a Yamaha V-Star 250.
