Time to check Jetmax Valve Clearance
Looks at service manual, looks straight forward, heads off to do it and pulls off first bit of tupperware under seat and looks and looks and WTF!!!....Does the engine really need to come out of the bike to do this?

On about the 10th look I have decided it can be done, just need to pull more bits off than I wanted and to have small childrens hands.

FAIL FAIL FAIL
After spending an inordinate amount of time pulling panels I get a decent view of the bolt circled and there is about 5mm between it and the frame so F knows how they expect me to get that out and then re torque it let alone sight for TDC

Detach engine and work on it on a bench.

Really?
For a 20 minute job I have to spend hours taking out the engine?

You know, scooters are contraptions of their own special kind, not like normal motorcycles. :icon10:
Jokes aside, I really seen that for many operations on scooters, mechanics simply detach engine and do their work. I guess that they would rather spend hour or two detaching whole engine that spending the same hour or two trying to dig in fingers and wrenches into unapproachable engine followed by constant swearing.

There was that.
Looks like I stick to oil, belts, rollers etc and then lube up, touch my toes and put it in a shop for this.
I imagine this'll cost several hundred dollars and not come back any different.

Or, instead paying serious money to the mechanics, you can, as Lenin recommended - "learn, learn and learn", and do this job by yourself. After all, you didn't bought affordable scooter to pay non-affordable maintenance.
