hello friends,
just a zong 250gs rider in phoenix..
about bike...
it was bought by original owner in 2006 in california..
his son hated it..
they rode it a measly 250 miles then it sat..and sat.. until I purchased her about 3 months ago...
she directly went to a shop and had the OIL and gas changed.. tank and carbs cleaned..
new battery.. fired right up...
(did find the main jet needle spring was missing when I pulled the carb to find out why it sputterd around 6,000k rpm) bought a yamaha one from the local dealer..bam hit a quick 70mph and no more bogging
I ride 30 miles a day here in phoenix it is summer 110 degrees...
I am up to 3903 miles as of today...
I do have all 3 books
components(awesome exploded views)
owners manual
and the maintenance manual (shop break down)
----------------------------------------------------
this weekend I did the fork oil
Attachment 13102
it was over 80 mL low... and was like vegetable oil..
after a recommendation from a member here said to use dexron V!
no leaks from seals before ..possible QC at the factory oversight?
either way rides alot I mean alot smoother.. no more diving...
----------------------------------------------------
just put on a New RK 530x108 Heavy duty chain...
New spark plug and valve adjustment...
---------------------------------------------------
still doing the break in recommendations
tightening and adjusting..
-----------------------------------------------------
she runs like a champ.. fires right up.. idles great .. runs quick
considering I ride in 100 degree weather in traffic it is holding up great
plus the roads here suck with holes and grooves everywhere..
hope to have a great time here

Welcome to MCM bsskibum, and looks like you are off to a great start. Thanks also for your kind offer, posted in another thread, to scan and post the three user manuals you have. I vaguely recall that someone has collected a number of Chinabike manuals and posted them in the cloud somewhere, but I don't remember where. Would be great to get the Zongshen manuals in there too.
Sounds as if you might have gotten a real fire-sale deal on this bike. Congratulations. Do post up some pictures when you have a chance. Until then, it's just a vaporbike.
cheers!

Re: new member from phx arizona
Welcome fellow Arizonan. I commute 30 miles daily on my TMEC 200 enduro in the heat to work at the state prison. I have a love/hate thing with the bike, but I did buy it used, and never knew how it was treated by the time I got it. I am not sure how many of us here on mychinamoto or chinariders are from AZ, but when the weather cools, perhaps we should all meet up provided the bikes don't fall apart,LOL

culcune.. mine will be solid and a ride sound like fun...
