Beijing Poker Run & Swap Meet on Saturday, Sept 4

Attention Beijing bikers ... I just got an email about an event next weekend

On Saturday, September 4, there will be a Poker Run starting at 0900 from Jimbos Classic Sidecars. (Sabine Hartman has posted a map, somewhere on this site, and you can also find a map to Jimbos on his website ... www.bmwsidecar.com) It will be about a 3 hour ride, where you collect "cards" at waypoints to make up a poker hand that you will bring back to the Iron Horse Saloon (next door to Jimbos).

The registration fee is 100 rmb, which includes a t-shirt and a lunch (burger, taco, or hot dog). Registration is done the morning of the event, immediately before the start, and maps will be provided. It is not a race, but a leisurely ride through the splendid riding areas outside Beijing.

Prizes for the best hand (including a new helmet) and other activities will follow.

The Iron Horse Saloon will also begin being open for breakfasts from 0830 AM, starting on September 4.

There will also be a swap meet, so bring some motorcycle stuff you want to sell / trade / etc. Anyone have an inter-bike communication system they want to hawk?
