Motorcycle license school in Beijing
Looking for a motorcycle license school in Beijing. A post on the Beijinger:
http://www.thebeijinger.com/forum/20...tes-in-Beijing
The post seems pretty helpful in condensing information, but the poster mentions Lao Shan training school is the only school for a foreigner to go. The 1,560 registration fee seems a little expensive and I didn't know if this is just an ad for the school.
Anyone know of a better place or is planning to get their license in Beijing soon?

I can get by with my Chinese, but is 1,000+ kuai a fair price for registration? Is this the only place?

I've been putting this off, but I now have a steady cash stream coming in that will allow me to purchase a bike. I'm leaning towards the Qingqi QM200GY.
Anyone know if the plate situation in Beijing has changed recently. Will I still look to pay 8000 kuai for a Jing A plate? Will I have to get a new Qingqi to apply for one?
Re: Motorcycle license school in Beijing
@ Brian
Yes, Jing A will still cost you 8000 rmb at least!
Re: Motorcycle license school in Beijing
Price is up to 1960 rmb. Called last weekend to setup my test and stuff.

Just got back in the country so looking to check it out this week or next week. In December I tried to find 海淀驾校, but gave up when I was lost. Anyone go to another place besides Lao Shan? Also wanted to ask if the new laws on cars this year also affect bikes? I think I'll settle for a JingB over JingA plate.

It's very easy to get to Lao Shan. You take subway line 1 to Bajiao amusement park. Walk out of the subway and make sure you're on the opposite side of where the hospital is! If so, turn left and walk a couple of hundred meters along the mainstreet until you can turn left into a street (at a T-junction), walk 50 meters into that street and wait till a white van shows up. It will take you there for free!! It has a sign with 4 characters behind the front window!
