I see it as “A” scooters and “B” scooters. Some are better made then others.
Actually many are copies of the real original manufactures models and in different versions, which look exactly the same.
The A and B come out of different factories, but look the same and the differences are parts used and probably fit and finish.
I am pretty sure that the ZNEN are the best and they cost more than others that look the same but cost less.
So they often rename the cheaper versions to hide that, they even change the names of the better to help them to hide the differences.
I believe that Benzhou Vehicle Industry Group Co.,Ltd., Zhejiang Taizhou Wangye Power Co.,Ltd, and Taizhou Zhongneng Motorcycle Co.,Ltd. Would be the better made and the others are lower cost, the importer of these want to take the business with the lowered cost versions.
It all dodgy since if they all were sold under a few names then the original could nail them for selling their designs. So we still get lots of brand names and its all dodgy.
Some have what is their own designs, but in the mess they do not get separated and should. It be good to see a Chinese branded line and with its own designs.
So you have lots of copies of KYMCO and others designs and some better than others in quality, but some real cagey practices selling them.

Yes, I am sure that Znen are the "top of the heap" when it comes to Chinese bikes. SSR, and I think BMS, use Znen as their OEM for scooters. I have heard that Tao Tao (I don't think they have any 2014 models, but did have some on the 2013 list) are supposed to be pretty high quality, as well. Excalibur Motorsports currently use Huatian, which are more well-known in the UK (maybe all over Europe, too), and have decent quality, which is why they carry them (they take price into consideration, combined with quality). Funny enough, they are the primary TMEC 200 Enduro distributor for the US, but don't carry TMEC scooters (which are manufactured by Baotian) due to quality control issues. Baotian are supposed to be entering, or already entered the US market under their own brand name (they might have been on the '13 EPA list), which would leave TMEC to either continue with side by side copies, or they have to find a new OEM (but TMEC were listed on the '14 list under their own name).

Most of the chinese scooters are copies of either a SYM or Kymco, they only make them slightly different.
I doubt that they are ever better than the original, but in some models they certainly look better.
The BMS Heritage looks very much like a SYM ALLO, but actually nicer.
But its really difficult to see that others are also selling copies of the same type and for much less.
This one is a DF sold by Sunny and sells for significantly less.

I highlighted this simply because the JL250 models all have a 234cc Twin. There are allot of models being sold online with the 229cc single, some being claimed as new arrivals. Also the 50cc model scooter comes up on an internet search a GEELY?
