Yunnan, August/September 2010
I've got a rough plan to try and acquire a cheap bike in Nanning then travel to/around Kunming, starting mid-August.
Anyone got similar plans and want a travelling companion for a few days/weeks?
I'd also be interested about anyone with leads on places to grab a second hand bike where a stupid foreign devil that doesn't speak a word of Mandarin isn't going to be robbed blind?

NO new m/c plate in NN city proper. That plate's market price worth at least a new bike:eekers:
1. The cheaper "counties" plate is NOT legal in NN city proper, BUT nobody cares in "normal" days:icon10:

Thank you very much Human. ~3000RMB for a new bike would be OK. Has anyone here travelled much on an un-plated bike? It sounds like asking for trouble to me.
I will only be here for a short time and only have a tourist visa so registering a bike is not an option - that's why I asked about used bikes that would have a plate and papers already. Still far from completely legal I know...
