Envy!!!
Wonder if that Hainan hootch would work in my kerosene heater here in Shanghai, where it's minus 3 Celsius on this sunny Christmas Eve. Brrrrrr.
Happy Christmas to all, even those who are lounging on tropical beaches...
More great pics rubbing salt into the wound!
Minus 3????? Try minus 20 tonight in Beijing! That Shanghai crew is sooooo ... well, you know ... Shanghai-like. :naughty:
I think a more "realistic" set of pics would have the JH600B in front of the CJ ... you know, towing, etc.
Ditto re Merry Christmas to all!
Dear LJH,
You forget that Shanghai is south of the Yangtze and hence, reflecting the divine wisdom of the Great Helmsman himself, ineligible for central heating. Buildings here by and large have no insulation, only single-glazed windows, and, at best, an A/C unit to blow a bit of warm air at the humid cold. You can probably wear shorts and a wifebeater in your toasty flat. I'm wearing longjohns and insulated trousers, and a down jacket over a heavy wool sweater in my kitchen.
Even on days like today when it's below freezing, Shanghai people in modest homes open their windows to "let in the fresh air." It's just as cold indoors whether the windows are open or closed! People in Beijing open their windows in winter because otherwise it's too hot indoors, and you get that static electricity build-up that makes children fear touching doorknobs.
Winter in Shanghai is truly insufferable!
Hahaha, like the air is fresh and clean... give me a break! Even in the outskirts of Ningbo where blue skies, or clouds can be seen with ease and the air would seem to appear clear (especially compared to what is used to be like in Shanghai when I lived there) and therefore one would assume as "clean" - it isn't. My garage is a testament to that since 'she who should be obeyed' insists on having said garage door open (and house windows) to let in clean air and remove some supposed fumes from all my vehicles parked therein - as if parked vehicles without engines running somehow leech out toxins. After a period of time, everything and I do mean everything in the garage (and the house for that matter) is coated in a thick layer of dirt. Just imagine what we breath into our lungs...
G'day,
With all the Xmas cheer and Santa in the sun around Sanya it's about time to dress up with one off my all time favorite t-shirts and hit one of the swanky Yalong Bay 5-star hotels for a ritzy Xmas eve dinner.
SEASONS GREETINGS and Merry Xmas to all.......

Merry F'n X-mas TB! :lol8:
You need to mount a big red "nose" between the headlights of your "B" ... and toss a bikini-clad "elf" in the sidecar!
G'Day,
Great beach setting (Dadonghai) for a healthy boxing day breakfast with mates.....
I KNEW i should have gone to Sanya this xmas...

G'Day,
Great cruising to Maogong Mountain (part of the Baoguo mountain range).
