Vehicles with Chinese plates are not supposed to leave China
I'm just reading this amazing ride report
"Don’t tell my Mom I rode 17,000kms from China to her house in Normandy, France with a stolen Yamaha XT250X prototype crossing the middle east on the way."
http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=618066
and I love it
but the guy says as in title: Vehicles with Chinese plates are not supposed to leave China.
Well he finds SOME way to go out, but does anyone know if there is any legal way? And how it would work with crossing other countries on the way to Europe?
How about to remove plates, take all the buyer paper, put it on the back of the truck and pretend you re not gonna ride it?
Re: Vehicles with Chinese plates are not supposed to leave China
Are you sure? I've heard lots of reports that you can leave China on a bike if you are the owner. It might be meant to read.

G'Day,
We exported a few HD's and CJ's in the last 5 years and no problems at all, all the bikes had valid China registration.

These exported HD's and CJ's where they ridden over the border.
I vaguely remember some people on CJ's riding to Europe and back.

Don't worry, it is possible and has been done. There are even a bunch of threads on this forum. The search field is located near top top right corner :naughty:

I was sorta stil am loking at riding thru China on a DR650 - But by the sounds you cant get in at HK or you need to buy a dodgy bike in China and cant ride to Nepal unless you have tour guides etc.
