Replacing gear indicator

Hi guys,
New here. I have just broken the gear indicator wire on my pulse adrenaline 125 and need to replace. What do I need to be able to do this properly and what other parts do I need to replace?

Where did you brake it or should I say it on which end, clocks end or engine?

I have broken the actual wire and have got a replacement i was just wondering what else i needed when i fit the part.

Have look at this thread, looks like is behind case so most likely need oil change.
