over here Generic is known as a austrian company using chinese manufacturing to keep costs down the truth perhaps not so much, but there 50's sell very well as there cheaper and to be fair look pretty decent on the outside
In the UK they are imported by BARRUS as the distributor.
Generic is a designer line, Kiska is the design studio behind the models, Generic is an Austrian company, Qianjiang is the OEM.
Kiska also designed the KTM DUKE 125
according to this article dated in 2008
(Barrus is no longer importing motorcycles in the UK)
they have been replaced with http://www.motogb.co.uk/
The 200 Duke has 26hp.

The 125 Duke has 15hp
Benchmarks….
KSR Group is headquartered in Austria and the two brother are behind it, Michael and Christian Kirschenhofer.
Barrus does a very nice job distributing….could say they have it down.
It is a relational system…a primary website that tiers into what are secondary sites for each brand.
Generic
Hyosung
PGO
One distributor handling multiple brands, however Barrus has interests in other product distributions, in that they have some diversification, in that they attain an economy of scale. Barrus reduces its operating costs by sharing those common costs of operations across all the various distributed brands. That business model also insulates them from market conditions…a mater of each reacting differently to the markets ups and downs and in that mitigates their exposure to any negative market trends.
Above all this type of business model inspire professionalism and in that basically takes the gamey sales bullshite out of the process. I am sure it still exists at the dealer level, but they are allowing internet ordering so that gets cut back to a minimum.
Barrus stopped importing motorcycles, they been replaced with http://www.motogb.co.uk/
I struggle with a 600cc 16valve four cylinder being offered as a Generic model, it seems to much of a leap?
Seems that the 250cc really should be in the mix for Generic and I also see it as a drop down for Benelli.
I can vision the 250cc offered as a Generic and the 600cc as a Benelli, it just makes more sense to me.
I would also like to see multiple versions of the 250cc in the Generic line…a version that takes the lines of the Derbi Mulhacen would make sense.
Maybe more on the lines of the new Husqvarna Nuda
I just think that the 250cc Benelli sits at odds with its other offerings and so does the 600cc as a Generic Model. I see them as looking lonely in the adjacent lines…that to me is bad juju.
