Re: China Motorbike Tour & Rental Company
ive been wanting to go to sanya and i want to rent a moto there too! if your friend goes and finds someone there..please let me know.. i went to kunming to check it out for living..motorcycles are there but hard to find shops. i found the Yamaha shop near the big lake. but it was the only one in the area...doesnt seem like much to do in kunming with a motorcycle, especially for off road riding...from what i could see. i took a long bus ride to a place listed here as motorcycle parts...but it was so limited there.
has anyone heard much about living in Dali or Lijiang with a motorcycle? i want better weather...thankssssss

Felix and Panda are wintering in Lijiang, and doing a lot of riding. Check out his recent posts.
Re: China Motorbike Tour & Rental Company
Not sure about Dali but Lijiang is a bike friendly city, and getting a bike registered here costs peanuts.
Regarding the weather, this is what it looks like every day...

Re: China Motorbike Tour & Rental Company
Passed this new empty shop today, looks like http://www.sidecar-shanghai.com gets into the vehicle rental business near the Eurocampus (German-French School) in Shanghai (Qingpu District).
Just hope they do not rent to kids without proper driving license as unfortunately its very common to see younger teenagers riding all sorts of scooters and bikes near Shanghai international schools without any license / rego / safety gear like helmets.....

www.tibetmoto.com Expedition Tours in Tibet & China
We are starting a Tibet expedition on May 31st to June 16 from Chengdu to Lhasa. For this expedition we are looking for other open minded people to join. The expedition will be a motorbike expedition, but we also take people as co-drivers in our Toyota Land Cruiser, so you can either get a motorbike for yourself or chose the car. At least half of the nights we spent in tents and camps in the countryside. We carry a large earthquake tent for cooking and sitting together and an electricity generator. During the expedition we cross almost all provinces where Tibetans live (Sichuan, Gansu, Qinghai, Tibet) and try to be as far away from the beaten trek as possible. Call Hendrik if you are interested: 15184999452.
Re: China Motorbike Tour & Rental Company
Sweet! I've been looking for a place that I could rent a bike for weekend trips when my buddies come into Shanghai from US and Europe...If there are any other rental options that you guys find, please add to this.
If anyone is just interested in renting their bike to make cash (250cc $60/ day or 500cc+ $100/ day+ deposit if needed), I will be happy to pass on the option - of course any damage would be fully covered / paid, and the assumption would be that the bike is returned in BETTER condition than when loaned - tune-up / oil change / bath...etc.
Just PM me if you'd be interested. I might also be open to returning the favor with my CJ or even the SRX5 once I get it to a good running level and broken in a bit.
FYI - the Ducati is the only one that I would keep completely to myself...true love and all.:mwink:
