ZF as the German gearbox manufacturer? And Sachs suspension and clutches?
ZF-KYMCO vs. KYMCO
72% of what ZF-KYMCO manufactures is sold domestically, 26% of what KYMCO manufactures in China is sold domestically. Both will manufacture about 160,000 unit’s this year, collectively 320, 000 units.
Kymco seems to have a plan, a K1 to compete with the SYM T1? Then the ZF-KYMCO model could be the K2 to compete with the SYM T2?

Kymco China, has yet to add the new models to its website, they are only offering the CK150-2B model.

ZF-KYMCO offers similar motorcycle labeled a ZF125-130B
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...ZF125-130B.jpg
ZF-KYMCO also use the brand Summit and goes by the name New Tibet Motorcycle Company.
The K1 looks like a nice bike...it seems very likely that a K2 is in the works?

They do not mention any connection with the German company, which is uber-big in china.

Zahnradfabrik in motorcycle business? That would be the day!
On the ZF KYMCO site, in the section "About us", they mentioned "Tibet-Summit-something" factory - http://www.zf-kymotor.com/ . Their products carry ZF letters in the label. Not to mention the same logo, with the radiating sun.
About K-Pipe: I discovered it literally today. Puny, but very interesting motorcycle.

ZF stands for Zhufeng as in the name of their other Chinese partner,
Luoyang Zhufeng Huaying Motor Tricycle Co., Ltd
LYZF makes a sport trike version…
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...Motorcycle.jpg.
From their Alibaba page...
"Luoyang Summit Motor Tricycle Co., Ltd is a joint venture, combined with Tibet New Summit Motorcycle Co., Ltd. It is a large scared, professional and integrated motor tricycle enterprise of scientific research, production and sales. The total investment of the company is RMB 0.2 billion yuan. The total area is 50 thousand square meters. The company has about 500 employees; including 60 intermediate or senior professional and technical personnel. The production capacity is 0.2 million sets per year. Nowadays, there are over 100 kinds of main products (110,125,150,175 and 200) in five series, all of which have been spread over each region in homeland and the sale volume is placed on the top in the same profession."
They are a big frightened company?
ZF-Kymco added the ZF250 to its home page, the bike is advertised on the companies Alibaba page with unit prices disclosed at between $1,000.00-$1,700.00 wholesale they have the DOHC -4valve 250cc.
http://www.zf-kymotor.com/manage/htm...80P1000883.png
They are calling the bike the ZF Sky Wolf 250, certainly that is in honor of the use of Wolf as a model name that is offered by SYM.
Bet they start selling the new 250 K1 bike, that looks just like the CB300R Honda in Brazil,
http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/Gal...00R%20%201.jpg
Why are motorcycles so expensive in Brazil, Honda manufactures a full line of models in Brazil they are not imports, they are made in Brazilian factories. From a 100cc step through to a CB1000R are made in Brazil. The CB1000R retails in Brazil for $19,500.00 USD, that is like a HD in China who get those and how many are they selling? In the UK that bike sells for $15,000USD, it gets cheaper crossing the Atlantic? It even get cheaper yet coming to the USA, it sells for $11,760.00.
I am not sure were the CB1000R selling in the UK comes from but, the ones selling in the USA come from Italy. The assembly takes place in Italy and the engine is made in Japan. Its probably better and certainly cost less.
In Italy the CB1000R sells for $13,500.00, all things considered taxes etc, the prices are not that different between Italy and the USA.
What makes the CB1000R in Brazil worth $7,000.00 more, in the country it is made in? Honda is making and selling in Brazil and getting rich off that? I have to wonder if they can actually reduce the margins there and still make money? It could be that setting up in Brazil cost a lot, who knows but something seems screwed up.
ZF-KYMCO offerings on Alibaba have a brand Arora on some of them.
This Turkish company has a twitter account...1200 following and 300 registered followers.

ZF-KYMCO offerings on Alibaba have the brand Velorex on them
http://www.velorex.com.pe/images/200RX.jpg
That’s a 200cc with a balance shaft, probably an OHV? Bet that they are so inexpensive in Peru.
Velorex? That's the name of the factory that produced sidecars for Jawa motorcycles.
Although, nothing can surprise me anymore. Today, when you say Stoye, someone will say that it is properly said Stoya. :lol8:
I am kind of surprised that the Kymco Pipe has a 31'' seat height...the 125cc is rated at 8.1 hp and its curb weight is about 264 lbs.

ZF-Kymco manufactures this very acceptable version of a CUB, they call it a COLT which is a good name for it.
I do not know why, but on sites of most Chinese factories, such mopeds/mokicks are in the section with classic underbones.
Kymco stopped offering motorcycles in the USA, you can still get a new 2009 Quannon 150, they are still advertising them on Cycle trader.
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...0d97c2f093.jpg
These come with a 150cc 4-valve rated at about 14.5hp.
The other bike Kymco offered at one time, to the US market, was the VENOX 250 which was their version of a
Honda VT250

You recognize these?
http://classic-motorbikes.net/images...nkel-perle.jpg
Its a moped, it has pedals, but still an underbone.
I do not see pedals on the Colt do you, where I reside to be legally classified as a moped it has to have peddles and under 1 braking hp and or a top speed of 20mph.
This does not have peddles, it has a gear shifter.
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...ed482861c4.jpg
I always wondered what the "C" in CUB stood for.
Yes, "underbonе" is "form factor", but I use that word in order to avoid to call Cub - a Cub, because it is still the name of only one popular model. But yes - I think that this turquoise two-wheeler can not be categorized as Cub. He is mokick (motor - kickstarter).
The laws are different in different countries. This category "pedals, up to 1 h.p., up to 20 mph" does not exist in most European countries (perhaps in Germany still exist their MoFa two-wheeler class; I don't know), has long been agreed to standard "up to 50 cc and up to 45 kph", regardless of starting method and type of transmission.
Yeah these look like a classic Vespa Moped but they are not Mopeds though they are auto shifters. Moped have one speed, twist and go and pedal if you are going to slow.
http://i118.photobucket.com/albums/o...fo-vespa-5.jpg
Well, not always one speed. My first motor driven two-wheeler, '82. Tomos Automatic 3M, had a centrifugal clutch and two gears, where the engine switch into second gear when bike reaches 22-23 kph. Oh, and you could choose version with pedals and with kickstarter.
BTW, Piaggio's models such are Si, Grande, Ciao, Grillo, Superbravo, etc - they all are with CVTs.
As usual we go way off the track…..
These sell for $250-300 each out of China and come with a 50cc, I think they need a 110cc at least they would for me to keep up with traffic at 50cc I think I would get run over in the city, they need to go 40-45mph, I do not believe the claims of top speed for the 50cc of 60-80kph
They also sell them as a FOX?

The ZF250 actually looks pretty good, I really cannot see anything wrong with it. Nothing looks like a copy of anything else, the bits look really good on it.
I believe it has a DOHC it is rated at 19.5 hp and they say it has a CV carburetor, I like to see the gauge cluster they avoid any images of the gauges? . But they have images of the rest and all the part look to be of good quality.

Anyone care to guess why it is that the KYMCO K-PIPE 125 is being sold as the K-PIE in China?
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...8a5d0fef86.jpg
They could have called it the K-PI, then somebody may have found the divergence as entertaining for a reason less...stupid?
