The new GY-5 is supposed to be available first and then the GY-7 in May and the LF250-19 in August 2011.
So actually it’s only a revised GY-5 that’s coming….and yeah they do not have any quality marketing photos for those! Just one cartoon like image….
Does it really take that long to get a model EPA approved? If it does then that’s a matter of timing the marketing and introduction in alignment with that actual time-line.
Then there is the whole issue of supporting the previous models, nothing about Lifan’s approach is confidence inspiring.
If the GY-5 is new then they should just replace it in the line-up and offer detailed pictures, pricing and color option. Is it going to be offered with street tires and a dual sport model or what….who knows it anybodies guess.
Something is wrong with these people...very wrong. The use of the Chevy emblem is disturbing. They take an approach that is supposed to attract and it repels. When you click on the image of the GY-5 it opens a link to a go kart that looks like a dodge charger front end with a Chevy emblem?
Hum, no dealers in the North East.... Can Lifan's be ordered?
What's the difference between the GY-5 and GY-7?
The LF250-B retails for about $2,700, sports the same engine as the LF-250-19 and its not anything to get overly excited about with 18.5hp, however the price is pretty good though.

The engine is knock off of Yamaha V-star 250 and Lifan also offers a 400cc version which also was called a Virago it has a shaft drive….

The LF250-19 is knock off of Honda VTR…but it likely has the Yamaha V-250 knock off engine implanted in it.

I am not sure what engine the LF250-19 has in it? It would be cool if it had a version of the original Honda...but I just doubt it does the original is water cooled.
American Lifan has model on its web site, the v-twin bobber…but they do not offer any info on the bike….it's actually a CP250 and here is one for sale.

I asked why do they advertise what they do not have available for sale….they do it to see if anyone is interested in them. But the thing is how does the interest get presented other then people buying them? Dealers do not really know what the customer they never met really wants.
