Just reaching out to other gy7 owners to see if they have found the front shocks to be too soft and what ( or how much and type of oil they added) they did to improve it.
Just riding over simple washboard today I found the front shocks so soft they just wanted to bottom out way too easy.They need to be much stiffer.
any feed back will be great
If you're talking about the Shineray GY7, i have the same bike had it for a month now and already put on 1800km. But I have no problem with front the suspension, and i don't think twice about going over bumps or pot holes, i actually speed up. How much do you weigh? I'm 77kg.
Also, seems you've had your bike much longer than mine, anything broke so far?
This is not advice on what to do, but from what i know, the amount of oil controls the damping effect, not spring loading. Question, was it always soft, or did the springs wear out and you just started noticing?
Like Slabo sez, changing the oil weight is the best solution to your problem. Springs can help a lot as well but effect the pre-load of the suspension system. Sticking some tube diameter sized washers under the fork caps can help tighten up the spring a bit but if you put in too many, you'll start to loose travel. Probably best to start with the oil.

I'm 90 kg and this was the first time off road with the bike.Our winter does not wrap up good until May up here so we are delayed on bush riding over other area.
For sure the shock are too soft.Does anyone have any info on working on the chinese made conventional style front shocks??
The "regular" style forks are pretty easy to work with. Suspend the bike and pop the fork caps off. If there are spacers, then make longer ones from the same diameter PVC, I would start with 1" longer and go from there. This will help with the preload. If that's not enough you'll have to start going to heavier weight fork oil. Some are going with 20w right away while others start with 10w. I guess 15w would be a good place to start. If you find that too firm then go back to your original spacers. It's all trial and error.
I have found that finding 15w fork oil a little dificult to get here (rural aera) I have in the past made some by carefully mixing 50/50 mix of 10w and 20w of the same brand oil. In upside the down Chinese forks I have worked with I have found the 15w works well.
