They may be able to save some time and energy ie research and development. Since somebody already worked on developing a 400cc engine for a street bike, the company Vento canceled the project, actually they seem to be out of business.
A three cylinder 400cc is what they were working on and sourced from china.

I do not think Vento went out of business, just stopped selling in the USA. PTS motors appears defunct now though.

Crankshaft Honda CG125 1978-1983 (16mm Wide Con Rod)
They would need to marry before they can mate?
The Odes service manual may offer the size of the crank and them matching is possible, but not likely. The gudgeon pin size is also what would need to match.
