Chinese driver license with M-visa. Possible?
Hey guys.
Basically this is the question. I stay in china for god knows how long. At the moment I am holding an M-visa with 180 days per entry. Was wondering if I could get my Chinese driving license with it or does it have to be a RESIDENCE PERMIT ONLY?
Has anyone on an M-visa tried/succeeded in getting your C1D?
Answers much appreciated.

M visa for 180 days is good to go.
Some providences will accept 90 days visa.
Good luck and well done.

We're in battle with the local provincial capital at the moment and we're told China and all china doesn't have an English moto test
Did it have one before? Does it not have one now?

It totally had an English language test before. I took it in Shanghai last October. Although it was Chinglish, was understandable, most of the time and after a lot of practice.
I've heard from riders here in Shanghai that now, since earlier this year, in order to get the license, foreigners must sit the Chinese language version of the test.
(Only heresay- but seems to match what you've said )
Re: Chinese driver license with M-visa. Possible?
I sat the test in Ningbo a couple of months ago now. It was computerised and in English. There were some grammatically ambiguous questions so even if you know your rules inside out its unlikely that you can get them all right (in my estimation). I studied using a website that I found on google for about a day and a half before taking the test and there were a few questions that I had no idea about even though I had prepared quite intensively. In the end I passed comfortably first go but I doubt that I could have without the preparation.
Also I had heard that the Moto specific test (that you don't need to take if you are transferring your licence ) was only in Chinese but they would allow an interpreter (or an answer giver - see that how you want :lol8:)
