Dscooterman in trouble??!!

There is a thread on Chinariders for one of the members who started a disturbing thread. It seems like the classic call for help from someone who is contemplating suicide. On CR, he is known as DesertDog, and Dscooterman here. He did not leave a message here, but has left something disturbing when you click on his profile here.

I don't think anyone lives in or near Elko, Nevada on this forum? The sheriff's office had been notified by Frostbite from Chinariders, and I have been playing phone tag with one of the deputies, too. Apparently, they have gone to his home, and no one appears to be there. Someone on CR has contacted the local paper (not sure what it's called, but if you go to the home page of CR, there is a link to the thread, and one of the posts has links to the paper and the t.v. news).

I hope it's not as dire as we all fear, but his silence is truly deafening!

Update--based on hearsay, apparently he is in Colorado at a family reunion till after this weekend. Hopefully this is the case, and we will hear from him...

Family reunion makes me think bad thoughts also. Alot of things I will do and wont, family reunions are a wont.. So is suicide, but given the option, it would be a hard desicion..

Hope all is well. Maybe he pulled a Kurt.. I told everyone I liked on CR that I was bailing though. Maybe he too got tired of the same question, same question, same question, same question.

Yeah it could be anything. The post on CR did look a little disturbing but maybe he's just burned out of the industry which is understandable seeing how much time you have to spend filtering out what is good, bad and ugly.

Regardless, hope he's okay! Either way, he's on a different path now.

OK, OK; spoke with Mark today--all is well with him--quitting the business side of Chinese bikes to have more time with family; no suicide attempt but he said he did kind of regret leaving such dire sounding posts.
