2006 Yamaha TT-R
I am currently living in Baotou, Inner Mongolia China. I am in the market for a second hand bike. I stumbled across a Yamaha TT-R in really good shape, but it has over 40,000 kms on the clock. The previous owner knows his stuff, so he has maintained it well. He is asking 12,000 RMB for it. Mechanically, it seems sound. No knocks or pings in the engine, and the clutch and brakes feel good. I took it for a ride, and gear changes were smooth.
I am a bit concerned about the mileage. He used it as a daily driver, so it's only been on road and smooth driving, but it seems a bit high for the price. I talked him down from 16k down to 12k, but I would like to know the opinion of other riders!
Thanks alot!

TT-R 90, 125, 250 ? Photos would be good, could give a better opinion with some insight into the condition.
Cheers!

Reggie on http://www.xt225.com put 75k miles on his XT250 and it was still going strong until it was totaled by a hit and runner.

Re: 2006 Yamaha TT-R
Well that's good news (apart from the hit and run bit). I am going to look at an older one (with only 10,000 km on the clock) tonight. It was used for desert riding, so I am assuming it's not in the best shape, but we will see how things roll.
On a different note, are there and other wai guo peng yous up here in Inner Mongolia, or even better, Baotou? Drop me a line if you are up for a ride. Riding season is coming soon!
