Mikilon M96 wont start!!!!!!
I was riding it when it just stopped. I've checked the fuel, stripped and cleaned the carb. It did have a spark but it wasn't very good, so I got a new plug but now there's no spark.
I've checked and cleaned the coil, but still nothing. I was looking for some fuses, but could only find one which is near the battery.
Can anyone help with what else I can check, or where the fuse box is???????
Cheers
Jamie

Any lights when you turn the key to "on". Test your battery. Check all electrical connections.

Hi Carl
Yeah all the electrics are fine, and the battery is good putting out over 12v. Am really stuck for what it might be :confused1:
Re: Mikilon M96 wont start!!!!!!
Check the emergency shut off switch on the handlebar? I once pushed a bike into my university parking lot cuz I thought it was out of gas... in reality, I had flicked the emergency switch and didn't realize it.
Other than that, if you're sure it's electrical, then it's a matter or tracing readings from the spark box back to the battery and alternator/generator.

Nah! It's not the ' kill switch ' I even by passed it just in case that's what it was. When you say the ' spark box ' do you mean the coil?????
Re: Mikilon M96 wont start!!!!!!
Coils is usually installed between the spark plug and the spark box. Spark box (more formally known as the CDI or Capacitive Discharge Unit) controls the timing of the spark electrical discharge. People have other names for it but I just call it "spark box".

Yeah! That's what I thought you were talking about.....LOL I've cleaned the contacts on the coil and put a new plug and HT lead on it, but is there a way of testing the coil and CDI unit ????
Re: Mikilon M96 wont start!!!!!!
i think i have the same problem with my qingqi 200GY...
Have you found out how to test the ``spark box``(CDI unit)???
Re: Mikilon M96 wont start!!!!!!
No easy and safe way to test the CDI - for the Chinese bikes they are cheap enough to just substitute a new one - if not the problem you have a spare !
Make sure you are getting about 80v into the CDI first though , if you are, check the coil works ok and if both those are alright time to try a new CDI box - they are usually reasonably reliable though so check wiring first !
