Yes very hard. Or at least that is what it has been for me.Now granted I am not familiar with all the ins and outs of the motor only from what I have been given as far as information here. But yes I got real lucky some guy was selling parts from a crotch rocket bike, that happened to use the same ( almost the same) engine.I had to fabricate a bit of motor mounts as the footprint was NOT identical. But she runs great.Just have an aggravating vibration at 45 to 50 throughout the bike.
I would love to bump her up just a little in cc"s but not much.I do not feel the brakes would handle anything bigger. Maybe an actual 250cc instead of the claimed 250 this motor is supposed to be. It is actually just a 229cc I think.
But someone needs to wake up out there and do something. But I guess this bike is just a go between or something. I would not have any issues with a new replacement Black actual DongFang motor for this bike. exact footprint and everything.

if your a casual consumer then yes, you can't go to your local shop or garage and get any help in finding one let alone installing it.
but I've come across a handful of sites online that claim to have them readily available, and they are almost always available on eBay as well.
but like I said what's really hard is to find it in stock black.
but if I were to shell out what they are usually asking, I'd rather put that towards an upgrade

exactly what engine did you put in?
when u get the time please take a shot of the ID plate, should be near the gear shift I believe.
and how about the motor mount you needed to make.

I'm interested to see that too. I believe that those two rear engine mounts are the same on all those CG and CB clones, and the only difference in engine mounts pattern can be in the front end (engine with or without balancing shaft, etc.).

Yep still running just fine. Left her stock except for 35 tooth rear sprocket and Honda bolts on hub. Draws more attention than $35 k Harley.
