Well dunno, I like this one quite some. The only thing buggering me is the engine having cheap china looks.

All this made me dream again of MZ ETZ 250.

None can beat the ugly utilitarian looks of that bike, and nothing else than two stroke is good for that refined simplicity :eek2:
I question the rake on the front forks too, too much air between the tank and the engine. They could have done a better job they may have copied the frame telemetry of the Nightwhawk 250?

That head cover comes off those engines they should have removed it,
It could look like this if done correctly
http://www.sportbikes.net/forums/att...onda-cl200.jpg
Now those they sold in the US, but the earlier versions.
http://www.autopictu.com/images/muz-etz-250-09.jpg
Indeed, but for some reason they can't do them correctly anymore. Except some can...

Think it could be the time to get a real job (the haircut I have had) and say fuck this shit and buy a real bike
There is an operation in Vietnam that is offering some different models, they go by the brand, get this RebelUSA.
Motorock is a website that offers a glimpse at their line, it looks like Loncin models but not all of them.
http://cafeauto.vn/thi-truong/motorr...otus-1629.html
Their CB170R looks like a Loncin Jeda.
http://static1.thinhphatmedia.vn/caf...1332924146.jpg
Their RC125 Notus as well looks like a Loncin.
http://static1.thinhphatmedia.vn/caf...1332924130.jpg
But then they offer this model with a twin, its under the model CB175R
http://www.motorrock.vn/vnt_upload/p...3_4___Copy.jpg
Further reading claims the twins are only 170cc.
here is link to their entire line.
http://www.motorrock.vn/vn/product/d...ml/?do=gallery
I think these are old? The CB170R a version of the Loncin Jeda may have been canned for a cheap knock off of the Honda Hornet they call a CB175R

Seems it has a water cooled engine in this one.
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...e168033f5b.jpg
The bike looks much like the Lifan KP150
They are asking 76.59 million dong for the CB175R that is $3,677.84 USD and a 250cc version will be priced at 85.59 or about $4,100.00.

Hardly - IZh motorcycle factory was liquidated years ago. Today in Izhevsk exist C-moto assembly plant. Their production is sold in Russia under brand name Patron.
No. Jupiter’s twin cylinder is based on DKW RT 350 design.
However, there was a period of cooperation between them. Jawa was developing 500 cc boxer engine, and several of these engine took IZh. and tested them on their bikes. Sadly, neither Jawa nor IZh. did not start serial production of that boxer engine.
Do you know what is even more interesting in this story of Jawa’s twostrokers?
This 350 cc before-the-great-flood engine in the late 80’s - early 90’s got a replacement - a modern 250 cc single cylinder liquid-cooled twostroker. The engine was installed into a motorcycle with the same design as the twostrokers that are sold today, plus a fairing and single shock on the swingarm. I do not know what happened, why they decided to keep the old engine, while the new engine lapse into oblivion.

Earlier there were even fewer.
"Ugly utilitarian look" you say?

It was not a rumor. Indeed the Russians bought a license from Yamaha for their thumper, but, as I understand it, the problem was that at that time the Soviet Union was no proper engine oil (???), then the Russians tried to "improve" engine design. And then, there were some other factors why that project was not carried to the end.

You know, Eastern bloc has not been Borg. :lol8:
Each manufacturer has worked for himself with rare exceptions.
ČZ - to be more precise. Note the Č, not C letter. It stands for Česka Zbrojovka, better known as firearms factory. CZ is for Serbia’s firearms/automotive factory Crvena Zastava.
ČZ’s bikes are, in my understanding, mostly off-roaders.
Where is mod, to transfer all this off-topic elsewhere!?
Damn, I wish this thread, however fascinating, had a title even remotely related to what's in it. But I guess it's a bit late for that now.
We just need mod who will move this off into a new topic.
Seriously, where is forum's sweeper?
It is not entirely unrelated, the thread is titled Loncin and they are selling to Minsk, who is in eastern Europe. Since other once major brands in the region are also selling other Chinese manufactured motorcycles and or using them for parts. Even Vietnam is not unrelated since that at one time it was a major market for Minsk but higher import tariffs has since changes that, now Locnin seems to be there instead.
Logic would have been for a joint venture with Loncin and Minsk to assemble Minsk branded models in Vietnam? The designs of the bikes should be done in Belarus? Some would have a Minsk two stroke engine? Why call them RebelUSA, the bike have nothing at all to do with the USA.
It seems that when they try they do not do a good job retaining the identity of the brands, Minsk does better with its classics.
My point is that selling CBK units into Eastern Europe and also Vietnam could be done best with designs that are reminiscent of previous Minsk offering that were very popular in both markets.
Then also we see a 660cc OEM engine from Minarelli, then also Loncin has production of a BMW 650 single that if Loncin could sell could change allot. All BMW has to do is say release the Kraken? They may never but then again that is probably going to happen through a solely independent Husqvarana first.
It does not hurt Minarelli to sell the 660cc does it? What holds Mineralli back is its prices.
If the Eastern European want to tap into low cost manufacturing, they really should pony up to a really good European design house first.
I believe that Loncin may be content being a super large OEM. What they need is better interfaces to the markets, from the designs in and distribution out.
Then Loncin as an engine manufacturer can actually realize an economy of scale, with better engines, it can then manufacture those better engines that can be shared with many different assembly plant in many different regions. If they don’t somebody else will? There is Zongshen and Lifan and others that can and will if they get a chance.
In fact Minsk buys its 200cc I believe from ZS?
They could empower other brands, but the current approach is not that appealing to many.
I am just trying to image how the industry can progress beyond its current stagnation, its not that it is only shrinking in production it not progressing in it business process and philosophies.
I just noticed that Patron IMZ is selling the Yingang YG250...not for cheap either $4,000.00 USD.
In fact, they are. Their bikes were designed by Italian designer who was responsible for the design of the Mk.1 Morbidelli V8.
http://s4.visordown.com/uploads/images/large/13093.jpg
:lol8:
Yea, from Zong. For their classic line, that is.
Patron's abbreviation is UMZ - Ural's (in sense - of Ural, Uralic; damn my English!) Motocycle Company. IMZ is for factory in Irbit who produces "Ural" boxers.
BTW, who is original manufacturer of this vietnamese twin CB 175 R?
I do not know who supplies the CB175R, that form is showing up under a lot of names.
http://cb175r.wordpress.com/tag/mini-hornet-600/
I am pretty sure that Rebel USA is assembling in Vietnam and considering the bike is not common, it would have to have some design engineering behind it. It is coming to Vietnam as parts and being assembled there.
It seems to be either with air cooled and also a water cooled twin, but not of a standard size? Maybe the water cooled is the 250?
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...93ed361467.jpg
The engine fits in that bike, but the 175cc version only has 13hp. If it had an engine that offered 20-25hp then it be more interesting and they mention a 250cc version is coming next.
It looks to be oil cooled?
The build quality does not look bad on the bikes, least not in the images.
http://i784.photobucket.com/albums/y...af11391879.jpg
here is their Alibaba page for what it is worth.
http://www.alibaba.com/member/vn1008...y_profile.html
That engine actually looks at home in that bike, that twin looks ok with a black finish in a modern design.
I would like to see it with the 300cc version, see the what is this thread.

Loncin set up subsidiary in Nanjing for precision machining, they capitalized the subsidiary with 22.5M RMB and sold a 35% stake to Nemak for 17.5M RMB. Roughly a 6.5M USD capital investment.

This company is a subsidiary of Loncin,
They are called Chongqing Longting Power and Equipment Company.

Loncin new CR5 is being introduced with a 11kw 200cc single, its what I would call a nice inexpensive bike.

However the muffler is way too large for any bike IMO.
I would like to see a CR6 with the 300cc single engine they manufacture.
Same style just a bit more substantial....
