    Re: Lifan 200

One god thing about the Lifan electical system is that everything except the electric starter will still work with a dead battery or no battery at all.

    Re: Lifan 200

Great bike. I've put 53,000 miles on mine and it's still running strong. There is also a centrifugal oil filter under the right side engine cover but it doesn't need to be cleaned very often. I'd say...

Re: Oil level on 2007 baja phoenix 250??

I would drain the oil and refill with 1.6 qts or whatever the manual says then get a longer dipstick from a Honda CT90 or other horizontal Chinese clone engine, then insert it and mark it at the...

Re: Oil level on 2007 baja phoenix 250??

Definitely the wrong dip stick. I used to have the same bike and the dip stick was much longer.

    Re: Seat comfort

Do a Google search for something called Sweet Cheeks. It's the only way I know of to make a stock seat feel wider and also provides water storage. Atop that you could use sheep skin which makes a...

Looking for engine part for Lifan 163FML-2M

The engine is the 200cc Lifan OHV with balance shaft, 2007 if that maters. 163FML-2M. I need the gear that is attached to the end of the balance shaft. It's a spring loaded gear that has developed...

Sticky: Re: Your Chinese Dual sport picture thread

My 2 Chinese bikes, 2005 Roketa (Zongshen) and 2007 Lifan. The Lifan has over 50,000 miles on it. The Roketa just 600 miles. My daughter has claimed the Roketa.

    Re: LIFAN 253 fmm

I did 3 things to mine which helped noticeably. Replaced the mufflers with surplus Harley mufflers for a better flow. Put in larger main jets. Removed stock air box and installed foam Unifilters.

    Re: LIFAN 253 fmm

Yes, a Honda Rebel clone. I had one in a little Hensim cruiser type bike. Always ran great but low on power. I believe many were sold in the UK as the Jinlun 250.

    Re: Website review? Countyimports

Yes, there's something fishy going on there. One is a Virago copy and the other is a Rebel copy. The Rebel copy I had in a little cruiser bike had catalytic converters and was jetted so lean it felt...

    Re: Website review? Countyimports

Be sure to check the internet for complaints on County Imports before giving them your money. The only way I would consider buying from them would be with a credit card so I would have a fall back if...

    Re: Good Idea? (New Bike)

Go ahead and get it, just make sure it comes with all the paperwork you'll need to license it. I've had great service from my Chinese bikes and hopefully yours will be the same. I wouldn't worry...

    Re: Cool Motorcycle

I used to have one just like that a long time ago. Traded a 1959 Vespa GS for it. The wrist pin bearing (caged needle bearing) eventually gave out and destroyed the engine.

    Re: Retro 250cc Zongshen

I can tell you the engine is based on the Honda CG125 which was designed to be a reliable work horse for 3rd world countries. It uses a single lobe cam, upper and lower rocker arms, and short push...
  16. Re: Regal Raptor 250 : Loves LRP fuel, hates unleaded

I don't understand how LRP would work well but regular unleaded would cause black plugs. Black plugs would indicate it's running rich. Have you checked for any restriction in the tube from carbs to...

Like I said, it's a very necessary part. Your crank was running without proper oiling.

  18. Re: Sprockets and chain for my Shineray XY200GY-7, the vibrator

Looks like an O ring chain. No room for a bigger countershaft sprocket so you'll have to go smaller on the rear. If you know the engine's internal gear ratios you can used www.gearingcommander.com to...

Re: spark plug - whats the difference?

I've never found any difference in performance with any spark plug so I always buy the regular NGK. The one in my Lifan 200 has been in there for over 20,000 km so far and still works just fine.

    Re: Need Engine part!

That is a very necessary part. It's the centrifugal oil slinger. If you are in Italy I don't know where you would get one.

    Re: Cold Running

I tried one of those race CDIs on my Lifan and didn't like it at all. Spark was too advanced at idle which made it kick back when starting and the idle had to be set up to over 2000 to keep it...

    Re: sprocket problems

Assuming that the center hole in the sprocket is the correct size to fit over the hub without a lot of slop it would mean the sprocket itself is too thin. In that case I would get a piece of sheet...

    Re: Cold Running

If you did have carb venturi icing there is no gas additive that will help. The additives are mostly alcohol which absorb water in the fuel. A good warm up should prevent carb icing since the carb is...
