Hey, the 1st issues, with the intake manifold, is identical to what happened on mine, quick fix was to wrap lots of duct tape round it, that tied me over till the new one arrived, the replacement one...

The koso ones such as; http://www.digital-speedos.co.uk/rx2n-10k-classic-mini-edition-206-p.asp let you set the wheel size amongst other thigns as well as the fuel gauge, so it can all be calibrated...

It's a Lifan LF 400\SkyGo SG 400, which uses the 2V68FMQ engine, its a Yamaha xv400/535 clone, as far as i can tell the gear indicators on ebay all use magnets placed by the shifter, ive not had any...

Based on all thesearching i did personaly id take the gamble, but likei said it is a gamble as is any chinese bike, parts are easily available tho on cmpo so thats a bonus.

You havent by chance blocked one of the pin holes in the carb with the o ring when putting it back together? I did this after cleaning the carb and had to take it apart and refit it again.

Extremly easy, had them on, wired up & finished with in 10 minutes, took the wires down and into the back of the headlight bowl, undone the front of the bowl and pulled the wires through then...

From my experiences so far the mech at my dealer is under qualified\knows nothing about what hes doing, the bike was not pdi checked for starters, and all the problems ive had etc.

Update, after stripping the carb theres no signs of a blockage, gave it a good clean and checked everythin over, all seems ok, besides the main o ring\seal been a twat to put back together.

Sounds like its the same as mine, the nozzle at the top goes to the SAIvalve, but on the under side out of nowhere a hole appeared O_o
