Problem solved! I was able to loosen the two screws on the brackets the forks pass through and then use a two jaw puller on the top bracket and the top of the fork and slowly compress the fork until...

Awhile back someone bought a bobber at a dealer who had a custom seat cover made. He said the dealer was going to try to find the measurements so more covers could be made, any updates?

No problem, hopefully that fixes your rattle. I used 8-32 slotted pan head thread cutting sheet metal screws. I bought 3 lengths 3/8, 1/2, 3/4. The 3/8 worked for me.

Was there any welding involved or after you removed the brackets and reshaped the regulator did it bolt right to the frame?
