Re: Two flat tires, need help picking new ones...

Ended up with the Pirelli Scorpion Trail due mostly to price and availability. Very little experience, but so far I am impressed with the wet adhesion. I presume due to high silica content.

Re: Two flat tires, need help picking new ones...

It's me that was confused. I went to the Shinko Korea site to look at the sizes and specs, thinking it would be the most comprehensive.

120/90 was the smallest 17 inch tire they listed, so I...

world.taobao.com takes US credit cards too!

120/90-17 that's a super tall front tire... jumping from 74mm stock side wall to 108mm. I don't think will clear the front fender will it? It's...

    What sorcery is this?!

Shinko as far as the eye can see! Your taobao even looks different. I've never seen world.taobao.com. It's much less of a cluster and shows the USD conversion too.

    Shinko? Youtube? :beerbust: TIC

Seriously though, yes I like them, but if they're available here I don't know where to buy them. On Taobao there's a single used Shinko 705, same for Conti...

Re: Two flat tires, need help picking new ones...

Will do. Note there are two versions the MT60 and the MT60 RS. The RS is what everyone carries, but it is a soft sticky compound. People reporting of having to replace the rear within 1,500 miles....

Re: Two flat tires, need help picking new ones...

Thanks! Clearance isn't an issue for either size and I'd like more lean on the kickstand.

I was more concerned about the change in gearing/acceleration, cornering ability due to side wall flex,...

No, I hadn't thought of that. Do you recommend any shop in particular? Is there a better way to find/contact them other than start calling HK distributors?

Re: Two flat tires, need help picking new ones...

Did you mean Pirelli MT60? I don't think MT90 has any sizes close enough for the DUKE. In any case, my advice is to purchase ahead.

The MT60 was my first choice, there are several listings but...

Two flat tires, need help picking new ones...

Re: Duke 390 with random bouts of 0 throttle response

You're right doc 98 exists in Ningbo, but it's a rare bird in my parts. I am persnickety about fuel, there are about 8 stations in my riding territory, but only one has 98 and its a 45 min drive.

Re: MY16 Duke 390 Finally Arrived! (The Unboxing)

I'll second all of these, especially the suspension. Tons of speed bumps in my area, big ones, speed bumps that feel like driving over downed telephone pole in the car/bus. The Duke just soaks them...

Re: Duke 390 with random bouts of 0 throttle response

Interesting... 95 octane is the highest available in my area and I ran it all season with no problems at all. My Duke 390 is a 2015 though, so no drive-by-wire. Did you ever find a resolution?

Re: What’s better for me than YBR250/YS250?
