I did not notice any negative effect after removing air injector. I think the ignition switch looks better mounted in the injectors place. The backfire is from to lean setting, check your main jet...

I removed air injector, relocated ignition switch, tucked in wiring ,fabricated a plate for engine6639 will mess with carb later going for a ride

I never noticed until I read it in a post

I fixed the seat by removing it and bending the two front tabs to the right about a quarter inch and bolted it back on
