Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I would think it's possible that the wheel is not mounted perfectly straight, and the sprocket is scraping the chain.
It'll wear off over time, but try to make sure you got:
a- 2" chain play on... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Most people on the I95 (I've done the road) are doing at least 75MPH. I usually do it at 80MPH on my 750cc, and slowly pass other cars.
I think his speedo is a bit off, but it's not in KMH, as... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I know what you're talking about. I had a BMS TBX260 before, with CVT, but the CVT is not heaven on earth.
First of all, a cvt can only be tuned one way; either for performance, or for fuel economy.... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Depends on what gearing you put on it, how you ride it, what type of gas you use (BP Premium generally generally has 10% better performance than most other fuels), wind resistance, hills, luggage,...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
To see 90MPH out of a 250cc could only happen if it's a short throw parallel twin engine (or more) with a red line on the 11k RPMs.
Ain't no way a regular 250 can pull 90! Heck, my 750 only pulls... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Strange,
My Chinese TaoTao EVO150 scooter with CVT goes faster up a bridge than your 229cc motorcycle? You should have upshifted in higher revs.
Also the slowest accelerating car is the Prius C,... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Why not?
1100 + shipping & Tax comes down to ~$25.000
Add $250 per bike for shipping locally to a home address, (comes down to ~$30k) and you're selling each bike for $1500 if you'd make zero... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Torque really depends on gearing.
250cc is 250cc, whether it comes in single or dual cylinder.
If anything, a parallel twin is probably the best of both worlds, less vibration, more continuous... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
It really depends how they stack em. usually 30 bikes = 1 small container. 100 bikes = 1 big container. They sell em to dealers in containers. you can also opt for sharing a container, which costs...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
It's more than likely a dealer price. Buy them in quantities of 30, meaning one container, or $30k.
I don't think those prices are single unit prices.
Some 150cc bikes are sold for $300 on... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
It's too sad that there are so few bikes out there, that are between 250cc and 500cc.
In fact, most entry motorcycles in the stores are 650cc's, and to me they're just too heavy.
Not only too... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Yup, is me.
On the BMS TBX260 I have a 100:1 ratio RPM over MPH, and the bike goes 82MPH. It's 256cc fuel injected though...
I use this RPM over MPH ratio, because it's indiscriminate against CVT... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Yeah, I guess the limiting factor in using 5th gear would be, how many MPH does your bike do at 2,5k RPM?
Ideally you will want to run between 2,5 and 3k RPM. With a 100:1 RPM/MPH ratio, you'll... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Why? The info seems straight forward, it's aimed towards the RTB, not the RTC.
It's just a calculation on an optimal sprocket/gearing setup for best top speed. -

It's a common error for those engines...
I guess they're meeting the emission standards for a 250cc engine, but not for the 229cc.
Concerning the gear ratio, you're still 1000RPM above the... -

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
