Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Howdy gang, long time no post. My Dongfang DF250RTB has been sitting unused for nearly a year. Of course, the stale gas reeked havoc on the carb gumming it up.
The pilot jet was so clogged, that... -

Re: Look out below......
Thanks barnone. I ended up ordering in a Battery Tender LiFo battery... the smallest one they make. Looks similar to the Shorai, about the size of a transistor radio. It started my Triumph...

Re: Look out below......
Finding a proper fitting battery has been next to impossible. I've tried everywhere: WalMart, Meijers, every Auto Parts chains stores, Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, various UMJ shops, scooter shops,...

Re: Look out below......
Having a difficult time finding a replacement battery. I have a TET 12N9-BS that measures 5-1/4"H x 2-7/8"D x 5-1/4"W (134mm x 73mm x 134mm). Everything I'm finding is 137 x 75 x 135 or bigger. ...

Re: Bobber
I must admit, I have not dived into these Chinese bikes like I planned to when I first got my Dongfang. I think the obvious things to look at are carbs & exhaust.

Re: Bobber
Bar None,
Good to see you back, albeit I've been absent for some time now. As for the Douglas kit, I'd think the motor would be the only part that would crossover.

Re: Bobber
Some of you old timers might remember café make over DF Bobber. I was feeling rather smug over that bike, until I stumbled across this:

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I'm fully registered, insured and plated in Michigan. In fact, I just got my first police pull-over for -ahem- running a stop sign. Truth be told, the young cop just wanted to check out my bike. ...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Well boys & girls, long time no post. That's because my DF has been sitting idle since last August. I'm breaking it out for this weekend's Gilmore Museum vintage bike show and I'm finally getting...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
I met Gardo at the PIT booth at last year's Dealer Expo, or maybe the year before. I thought he worked for them in some capacity. Seems like a nice guy. I wish him well if he's left our little...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Howdy gang... long time, no post. Last month I had 'an off' on one of my Triumph Bonneville's while riding near Harlan KY with friends. I'm OK, mostly bruised and scraped up like my bike. Oh well,...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Damn near put myself & someone else in the hospital yesterday at Mid-Ohio VMD. I was tooling around about 5 mph on my DF when I spotted a Heist parked along a row of bikes to my left. So I start to...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
It's got that Johnny Pag vibe going on. He uses parallel twins as I recall. I'd like to see that pint sized v-twin in a Mistfit platform.

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
They're right about the Triumph cable. Very robust. I've got some but they're 48" long (tip-to-tip). My DF has clip-on's, so the shorter cable came in handy. But just placing the loose cable...

Re: Dong Fang DF 250 RTB Bobber Information
Flatside tanks (aka split tanks or fatbobs) would be a challange to install on the DF. Mounting issues aside, you'd have to come up with a dash panel solution otherwise you'll have a very unslightly...
