Don't think so. According to this report it says:

"..The Iranian riot police are using motorcycles to quickly travel from one area to another"

On this photo it looks to be a Honda X something...

Honda XR250, the choice of the oppressor?!

one of the things really i like in China... politics don't exist. Really, politics is never a subject of discussion or worry in China. I mean that in a good way. There is a bad side for this, but there is no sense going there..

I remember seeing on Asiawing's old site that they sold a bunch of 250cc (Suzuki-engined) cruiser styled police bikes to Iran's (maybe Tehran's) police force a few years back. It looks like they prefer the Honda dirt bikes better?!

Since you first posted that pic of the motos in Iran I'm seeing them in all the coverage. Weird way to be using a dirt bike, but I guess it's no different from the horses cops use in Canada to intimidate crowds. Here's a pic from this morning's Globe and Mail:

Here's to hoping the people in Iran actually get some freedom after all is said and done.

Bikes are supremely mobile in tight situations/environment and can actually carry a decent amount of gear if properly equipped.

It will certainly be interesting to see how the situation over there resolves itself. Kinda popped up from out of nowhere!
