06-19-2009, 09:53 AMDoes anyone know where I can get a rear sprocket for a mikilon m96 bike. I've changed the front from a 12 to a 14 but the bikes still way way too low geared for the road (its buzzing at 45 but still pulling like a train). It has a rear sprocket with 36t 520 size with 5 mounting bolts. Failing that does anyone know what the jap eq. bike would be? Would love to improve the gearing feels like it just zips up to 5th and thats it.

06-19-2009, 06:55 PMIf no-one comes up with the Jap equivalent from which that bike is cloned, you'll have to wade through the vast range in JT Sprockets until you find the right one. You need data such as chain size, this you already have (520), the size of the middle hole, the number of bolts and their size (probably 6 x M8), and the pitch circle diameter. This is the diameter of the circle in which the bolts are drilled.
Example of what you'll find on that site. This is from an XT250 Yamaha:
Jincheng Monkey JC50Q-7
Skyteam Dax replica ST110-6
Zongshen ZS125-43
Qingqi QM200GY-BA Super Motard

10-25-2009, 10:36 AMHi, thanks for the info. I also have one of these bikes and reckon it would be great with a couple more gears! like maybe a 6 7th and 8th. 1st is ridiculously low so plenty of room to modify.
Can you tell me where you got the front sprocket and its model/make?. Also did you get a rear sprocket? Would appreciate similar details for that too.

I have the same bike and had the same problem
After searching for a while I was unable to source a rear sprocket that
would fit, I then ordered a blank 38T sprocket from a local bike shop. It came without any holes in it so I took it to a engineering shop and gave them the old sprocket so they had the correct sizes to cut the center hole and the mounting holes, and it works like a dream. The bike is also much better at top end, I wanted to fit a 36T but could only find a 38T b ut still wort the effort.
