    Hi CHina Moto Ryders

I was guessing if other brands of Qingqi 200 motard (mine is a Genesis buyed in Honduras) has the Gear Display so dim. I only can see the gear number at night!
Are there a fix for this?

It anoying to have this helpfull instrument but can't use it at daylight.

    BTW
Should I use regular gasoline or premium (I understan the diference between them but dont know the compression of this engine)

Can't wait to complete the brake in and acelerate!

93 or 95 octane gasoline. Compression ratio is 9.4 to 1.

My gear display is a bit dim as well. Specially the "N" for neutral. The system is just a LED display and a multi-position switch in the gearbox. There should be some resistors in series with the LED segments and it may be possible to drive the LEDS harder by lowering their value.

There are some high brightness displays around as well. I'll have a look through some catalogues at work.

    Thanks Forchetto
(you have the same motard version right?)

I was thinking to make some kind of sunshade to see the display but an electricity fix should be better

    Andreas,

The gauge clusters are the same on all the QnigQi 200 bikes... and I think even the new 250.

Yes mine is the same. I asked someone at work and it seems that there's some sort of integrated circuit there as well. They called it a 7-segment driver IC or something.
I said to him: "if you're so clever, you find me a brighter display or a way to increase the existing display brightness".

That shut him up and he's now looking into it for me...

maybe we should start another thread for this but...
I think all the bike seats are not waterproof.
You can buy or make a plastic coat in a similar way here in CA are used for Hats.
Some kind of plastic bag with a ruberband al around thas fix the plastic to de seat. Then when starts to rain just put this in the seat.
Actually the new bikes come out of the box with one of these.

Going back to the topic of this tread:
I cut 5 cm of 3/4ø pvc pipe and glued it over the led display. this made the perfect shade and can read the display perfectly. I will post pics ASAP.

    Not much aesthetic but functional

Still waiting for a more tecnical solution: Forchettooooooooooo!!!

Hope to travel to CR soon. And made a RR of it! (when the rainy season ends .)

Nah. Those useless bastards can't come up with anything. Something about it not being just a 7 segment display, but a dual something, alphanumerical, blah, blah, blah...

I don't seem to have the same problem as you guys. Maybe it's my location and/or the time of day I ride. I ride to work in the dark and at home in the early afternoon so the sun is never directly overhead.
